The tractor show at our birthday celebration this weekend is extra special to me because it was inspired by one of my favorite people in the worldโmy Pa.
My Paโs love for antique tractors has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Seeing him light up when bringing out his tractors and watching him drive them through the Christmas parade and showing them off at shows
brings us so much joy. He has an entire glass cabinet filled with collectible toy tractors at home. Every now and then when I was little, we'd go upstairs and play with themโฆ very, very carefully. ๐
My Pa is one of the best men Iโve ever known. Anytime I tell someone that Jerry Towns is my Pa, the response is always the same: โNow thatโs a fine man right there." I'm not kidding you! He's a good one! Nanny may want to thump his head every now and then for making messes but she's as in love with him today as she was the day they met!
He hung the moon and stars for me growing up, and now he does the same for Darci. At 77 years old, he still works harder than most 20-year-oldsโeven with a missing finger! (Darci and the twins especially love when Pa draws a smiley face on his little nub. ๐คฃ)
When we started talking about adding a tractor show to our event, I knew I couldnโt pull something like that off by myself. So I reached out to the one family I knew that loved tractors as much as Pa โthe Dillon family.
Miles, Katie, and Tucker have a passion for antique tractors that is truly unmatched. They are some of the kindest, most humble, hardworking people youโll ever meet. The moment I messaged Katie, she responded almost instantly and said YES! From that point on, theyโve taken the lead and made this whole thing come together. I havenโt lifted a finger.
This tractor show is happening because of them, and I am so incredibly grateful for their help, support, and willingness to make this idea a reality.
So when you come out Saturday evening and see those beautiful tractors lined up, know that theyโre more than just tractors. Theyโre a celebration of family, tradition, hard work, and the people who make our small community so special.๐
Let's have a TRACTOR SHOW ๐
