Let me paint a picture for you!!!!!
This weekend I had a lady stop by the shop for the first time. She walked in, stopped and said OHHHH? Then she started looking at the Pyrex, decanters and bottles very interested but not saying a word. She stood up and looked one way and said this looks like……. This looks like? This looks like???? Keep in mind I’m behind the desk listening to her not sure if she’s having good thoughts or bad thoughts about the shop. I’m literally on pins and needles waiting to hear her reaction.
After what seems like 5 mins she said this feels like HOME!
Omg what a compliment! I knew she wasn’t from around here (Her accent gave it away). She came from a long line of collectors. And we all speak that language fluently!
That’s the biggest compliment! I try so hard to make our shop feel nostalgic, welcoming and like home for many people.
I’m always worried that doesn’t always translate! It felt so good to hear those words!
