Grace Caprez Obituary
Grace Marie Caprez (Bloom, Parks). Green Ohio
Grace Marie Caprez was gently lifted to heaven at the age of 85 on November 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Grace was born in Dubois, PA and moved to Akron at the age of four. She was a homemaker, volunteering in the Green Schools and serving as President of the East Liberty PTA. She attended the Akron School of Practical Nursing while managing a household of four pre-teen children to become an LPN. Grace’s nursing career included service at Barberton Citizens Hospital, Brecksville VA Hospital and a private OBGYN practice.
She enjoyed traveling and exploring the world with her husband, Al, her siblings, and her children and grandchildren. She traveled to places like Switzerland, Africa, China, Alaska and Hawaii and it gave her great joy to share these experiences with her family.
True to her name, Grace was a thoughtful, kind person who touched the lives of so many.
She is preceded in death by husband Albert Caprez; Sons Rick, Gary & Tracy Parks; Brothers Ernie and Jack Bloom; and Sister Mary Jane Troyer.
She is survived by her daughter Cathy (Frank) Edwards; Stepdaughter Michele Caprez; Stepson Gregg (Michelle) Caprez; Daughters In-law Ronda and Debby Parks; and chosen family and best friend of her son Tracy, Tom Hall.
Sisters with whom she shared a special bond: Donna (Earl) Walden; Maxine Dover; Bertha (Dean) Doan; Helen (Don) Scheufler; and Sister-in-Law Norma Bloom.
She was Grandma Grace to eleven grandchildren, all of whom she was so proud of and loved dearly: Felicia (Kevin) Doan, Landis Parks, Kevin Edwards, Danielle (Erik) Modlo, Megan Edwards, Paul (Mercedes) Parks, Max Caprez, Lorna Parks, Ryan Overholt, Muriel Overholt and Liam Crossley
She was GG to four great grandchildren for whom she beamed with pride: Kylee & Parker Doan; and Collette & Juliana Modlo.
As a good and faithful servant of God, her gentle smile will now shine in Heaven yet always be in our hearts. The family thanks the staff on Unit 9100 of AGMC/Cleveland Clinic and at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center for their loving care.
To honor Grace’s memory, volunteer at a place in need and/or take a friend out for a meal.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Green Valley United Methodist Church, 620 E Turkeyfoot Lake Rd, Green 44319. Friends and family may call from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the service beginning at noon
