I had a somewhat free evening yesterday and the house, laundry piles and kitchen could’ve most definitely used my full attention. But Kate wanted to go find some puddles to jump in, so that’s what we did ☔️.

This week didn’t start the way we had hoped. We knew Kylor would still be 100% non weight bearing for another 10 weeks, but we thought he’d at least be getting a boot like originally planned. Instead, he got put in a hard cast for the next 4 weeks. He’s getting around better and feeling a little more comfortable than in the post surgery cast. We’re thankful for the friends who have stopped by, offered a meal (cause this mom is running like crazy) or helped with the kids. We’ve got a long road still but thankful we’ve made it this far.

It hit me like a ton of bricks that there’s only three and half years left before he’s on to the next chapter, and that feels like time that will just fly. So while we’re in the thick of it and overwhelmed and weighed down with the stress of life, I’m reminding myself to savor every moment ❤️.

Made it outside this evening for the first time in 10 days. Only 8 more days until the cast is off and stitches are out,...

Made it outside this evening for the first time in 10 days.

Only 8 more days until the cast is off and stitches are out, then he will move to a boot but still 100% non weight bearing and almost full time elevation for 10 more weeks with his only activity being PT.

This recovery is LONG, painful and boring. Thank you to those of you who have offered to help with rides for kids, bringing a meal or reaching out for company. It takes a village and I am grateful for ours ❤️.

We booked it town after school (tornado watch and all 🤪) for the kids to go meet Avery! Dad was super jealous that he’s stuck at home post surgery, and the boys were too starstruck to hardly talk. 💜🏈
