Building a Digital Audit Trail for Construction Sites

The construction industry runs on tight schedules, precise coordination, and razor-thin margins. As a construction site manager, you know the stakes are high – missing a deadline, losing track of materials, or forgetting to log crucial safety checks can result in costly setbacks.

For a contractor, it requires a clear and reliable way to track progress, manage resources, and ensure accountability. That’s where a construction site manager solution helps.

It’s an all-in-one management solution that keeps tabs on everything from worker locations with a mobile phone tracking app to project budgets, all in real-time.

Here’s why every construction site deserves a Construction Site Manager Solution (CSMS) for tracking activities, people, and other essential things.

Why Custom Metal Decals Are Important for Your Business

Every detail counts when making a lasting impression on your customers. Custom metal decals might seem like a small component of your branding strategy. Still, their impact on your business can be significant. They can reinforce brand identity and increase visibility.

What are Custom Metal Decals?

Metal decals are personalized labels made from durable metals such as aluminum, stainless steel, or brass. They are designed to showcase logos, brand names, other branding details, and identifying information about your business.

They provide a sleek and professional appearance and can be used on products, equipment, and machinery. Known for their durability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions, custom metal decals can also be attached to safety labels, asset tags, and compliance plates.

Easy Method to Distract & Reduce Anxiety for Pediatric Patients

Children in hospitals often experience anxiety, fear, and discomfort during procedures and even routine checkups. This can lead to distress, resistance, and even safety risks. Traditional methods to manage these challenges can be invasive or have limited effectiveness. Time constraints can also limit the type of methods used to manage these challenges.

The ISG, through partners like PDC Healthcare, is proud to introduce Pediatric Cards. They are small, badge-sized tools that can be used during procedures in pediatric settings. The cards have fun designs with hidden elements on the front featuring Gillie Guinea Pig, with easy prompts on the back for clinicians to use as they interact with children. Pediatric Cards are portable, easily sanitized, and are created with evidence-informed methods. These simple and engaging Pediatric Cards can significantly improve the pediatric healthcare experience.

Enhancing Campus Security with Badging & Access Systems

In today’s world, security for higher education institutions must prioritize the safety of students, faculty and staff. With thousands of individuals accessing academic buildings, residence halls and restricted areas daily, ensuring proper identification and controlled access is essential. Implementing Student and Staff Badging Systems alongside Access Control Systems offers an efficient and secure way to manage campus security effectively.

The Role of Student & Staff Badging Systems

Student and staff badging systems serve as the cornerstone of campus security by providing an easy and reliable way to verify identities. These systems allow institutions to issue personalized identification cards embedded with smart technology, such as RFID or NFC, to control access and track movement within campus facilities.

4 Workplace Safety & Security Considerations

Workplace safety continues to be a concern for many employers – and their employees – across the country.

According to the U.S. Dept of Labor, acts of violence and other injuries is currently the third-leading cause of fatal occupational injuries in the United States. Sadly, the workplace is not immune to the epidemic of mass shootings in this country. Between 1966 and 2021, there were 53 workplace shootings carried out throughout the country, according to the Violence Project, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research center that’s funded by the National Institute of Justice. This represented more than 30% of the 188 mass shootings recorded during that period, the organization said. The biggest motivator behind these incidents was an employment-related issue, such as a termination, which constituted 70% of the recorded workplace mass shootings, according to the Violence Project’s data.

Workplace Violence Continues to Be an Issue

“Workplace violence is a tangible reality,” say Heather Beasley, Security Manager for Purple, the mattress innovator and manufacturing company. “Our manufacturing space is very open, and news of workplace violence and use of weapons elsewhere gave rise for concern.”

Back-to-School Planning is a Year-Round Commitment

With summer well underway, K-12 and college students, faculty and staff are taking a well-earned break to recharge and gear up for the fall. It’s also the season when security professionals can get in and get busy installing upgrades and retrofits before the new school year starts. It’s a brief window, but thanks to diligent planning throughout the year, the pros are always ready to hit the ground running at the last bell of spring term to make the most out of the limited time available.

A lot goes into studying what to do and where to allocate budgets for improving security at today’s schools. Naturally, no one size fits all. For this article, though, we’ll highlight some things K-12 districts, higher ed institutions, professional organizations, and the security industry are focusing on to improve the safety of campuses and the well-being of those attending, teaching, and supporting them.

PASS K-12 Guideline Updates

For those involved with K-12, expect revisions soon to the current Partner Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) Guidelines. If you’re not familiar with this important organization and their free publications, visit passk12.org to learn more about them.

Is Your MFA Phishing-Resistant?

As cybercrimes skyrocket, more organizations are moving to multi-factor authentication (MFA) for login to critical systems and applications. However, some of the most common forms of MFA, including one-time codes and push notifications, are still vulnerable to sophisticated phishing attacks and other forms of data interception. That’s why emerging cybersecurity standards and cyber insurance requirements are calling for phishing-resistant MFA solutions to further reduce risks related to user authentication.

Problems with One-Time Codes & Push Notifications

MFA methods like one-time codes and push notifications were put in place to reduce risks related to compromised or hacked passwords. MFA adds a second layer of security in the form of an additional authentication factor that must be entered along with the username and password. The most common forms of MFA are time-limited one-time codes (which may be sent via email or SMS text or generated by an authentication app at the time of login) and push notifications sent to a trusted device (such as a smartphone). These phone-based methods of MFA are meant to confirm the identity of the person entering the login credentials; the user must have access to a trusted smartphone/device to complete the login.
