Both of these dresses were in need of a hem, sides taken in, shoulder taken in, and an in-depth steam. There has been a trend for a while now for weddings to have sage green, pastel nature colors, and deep nature colors as a part of the theme. I enjoy this trend a lot! My client had this dress and wanted to some beads added to the back to look like buttons! After 75 buttons and adding a bustle it came out lovely

I didn't have to do too much to this cheer skirt, just let it out a little and add a touch more fabric to the waistband....

I didn't have to do too much to this cheer skirt, just let it out a little and add a touch more fabric to the waistband. It needed to be done within a couple of days, so I sat down and just worked. Sometimes having work that lets me autopilot is nice!

Getting back into the swing of things with this lovely wedding dress! It needed a hem and to be taken in here and there, I also reduced the poofiness of the sleeves some. And of a good steam was needed! I love working on formal dresses/clothing, definitely some of my favorites to do

I haven't posted in a little while, so I thought I would share what I have been up to! We are coming up on our final weekend of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (presented by Emmett Hook Theatre) and I am so proud of this show. Production team, cast, and crew have created one of the best theatrical environments I have been in. People didn't let pettiness get in the way of having a good performance, and everyone is encouraging and uplifting. It has been a great example of what community theatre should be. I also learned so much, and for that I am forever grateful. I strive to be better and do better with what I have learned as I move forward professionally and personally with life.

I figured I would share some pictures of the costumes (taken from my handy-dandy spot backstage doing crew work and running costume changes and such) to show off the work that has been put together. With a few funny pictures thrown in there for giggles.

P.s. I also included pictures of the setup I did for the girls and boys dressing rooms because I am quite proud of the overall setup:)

I've been a bit busy lately with the show I've been working on, but I'll give a sneak peak at a costume piece. This fake chain mail garment worked for what I needed it to, but it looked so fake. I do not like putting things onstage that look cheap if I can help it. So I weathered it! All it took was some paint and determination to make it look slightly less like a "costume" piece.

P.s. The show "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" opens next weekend at Emmett Hook Center Theater. You can see an amazing show, and some not too shabby costumes!

I thought it would be a good time to mention that I am officially doing my first paid costuming gig along with the wonderful Caroline Armagost ! Here is an overall mood board for the show "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" being done with Emmett Hook theatre. I'm beyond excited and so thrilled to be costuming again! I hope to do well and do more in the future (The show opens in the second half of July btw, the actors are amazing and the costumes won't be too bad either)

A common question I get asked is, "What are your prices?". So I made a price sheet with my current base prices. There is a lot that can be done during alterations, that is why I tend to price on a case-by-case basis. I am always willing to give a quote, or work up an estimate after a consultation (if need be)!

I am forever grateful that people come to me for my work, it makes me so genuinely happy to help. I try to price reasonably, and I never charge for fixing my own work. Thank you to all who support me business-wise and creatively, I will continue learning and working to be better!
