Years from now, we won’t only remember what we sold or how busy we were. We’ll remember who we became while building it. The risks we took. The nights we were scared. The times we chose to keep going when quitting would have been easier.
We’ll remember looking across a crowded room at each other and knowing exactly what it took to get there.
The beautiful parts.
The hard parts.
The imperfect parts.

The most tender post about a drink I have ever read. ❤️

There was a time when you didn’t need a recipe to know what was coming.

You could smell it from the other room.

Sweet potatoes. Butter. Brown sugar. Cinnamon and spice.

Grandma was making sweet potato pie.

You’d wander into the kitchen pretending you needed something, when really you were just checking to see if it was ready.

It wasn’t.

And you better not touch it.

But if you were one of the lucky ones, there was something else waiting in that kitchen too.

Sweet potato pudding.

The kind of thing nobody wrote the recipe down for.

Grandma just knew.

A little of this. A little more of that. A taste from the spoon. And somehow, every single time, it tasted exactly like you remembered.

Years go by.

Kitchens change.
People get older.
And sometimes the person who made it isn’t standing at that stove anymore.

But then you taste something.

And for just a second, you’re back there.

Back in that kitchen.
Back at that table.
Back when Grandma was still telling you to leave that pie alone.

Sometimes a taste is all it takes to go home again.

That’s what inspired this one.

Sweet potato and Madeleine with espresso, topped with vanilla cold foam, Biscoff crumble and cinnamon.

We can’t make Grandma’s sweet potato pie.

And we’d never be foolish enough to claim we could.

But maybe we can remind you of it.
