This spring has been very wet with limited days available for trips to Sand Wash Basin, so I have been busy putting my stories to music.
In the last month I have completed The Great American Horse Drive, Sand Wash Sid and Wild Horse Warriors.
Each of these give the viewer a glimpse of the real western life in Northwest Colorado. Each story is told through my eyes with photos I have taken. A couple have some AI creation to give the story the humor or reality that it deserves.
You're My Thelma is a humorous story of what a tour in Sand Wash Basin might be like.
Great American Horse Drive is my story of the domestic horse drive that happens every spring, when a local ranch moves their horses from their winter pasture to the summer pasture.
Sand Wash Sid is a Thank you to Sid for all the times he has rescued me or others in Sand Wash Basin, (and no my husband does not know all the stories behind all the rescues!)
Wild Horse Warriors originated as a poem my husband wrote when Aletha and I were first forming Wild Horse Warriors for Sand Wash Basin. It was shares our wish for the roundups to never have to happen again.
Yes the music is AI and so are the vocals. Yes you may see some flaws in the creations, but the story stays the same.
Hope you will take the time to watch and truly listen then think about all the fun we have had in Sand Wash Basin, the tears that have been shed and the lessons learned and the commitment it takes to be a wild horse advocate.

Because I truly believe in the story I am trying to tell with my series, Memories of a Wild Land, I entered two of the videos into the Equus Film Festival. I entered Fragile Ground - Where the story begins and Sand Wash Basin - Wild and Free where we return to the Basin and the horses are still running free due to the collaboration of the wild horse community.
I have no expectations of winning or even placing, but I think it will increase my exposure so more people will hear my story.

IN JUST OVER 24 HOURS…
my full album, Memories of a Wild Land, will be released.

Words can’t fully describe how I’m feeling.

This album comes straight from my heart. It tells the story of what I’ve lived and learned since Aletha and I created Wild Horse Warriors for Sand Wash Basin and signed our MOU with the Bureau of Land Management.

There have been tears… and there has been laughter.
We’ve met incredible people out on the range.
We’ve learned things we never expected—like changing flat tires (about 14 in that first year), and helping others do the same.

We’ve fought to get the Van Gogh Legacy Fence installed…
worked to haul water where it was needed during drought…
partnered with contractors and the BLM to repair ponds and install solar panels…

But maybe most important of all, we learned how to work with others—
across organizations, across perspectives—
to try to find better ways forward for the wild horses.

Being part of the Colorado Wild Horse Working Group is something I will always treasure. I truly believe Colorado is on the brink of meaningful, positive change for our wild horses.

Memories of a Wild Land
This album was written straight from my heart.
It was born out of long days on the range, quiet drives home after meetings, early mornings counting bands in the sagebrush, and the deep love I carry for the wild horses and the land they call home.
Fragile Ground opens with the reality of the range—beautiful, strained, and worth fighting for.
Run Free, Run On reminds us why we fell in love with them in the first place.
Wild Horse Annie – Your Voice Lives On honors the legacy that made this work possible.
Memories of a Wild Land reflects on the sacred history written across desert skies.
And the story doesn’t stop there.
Still We Stand and Boots on the Ground speak to the complicated, often unseen work happening today—the miles, the meetings, the fence repair, the documentation, the hard conversations, and the choice to work together even when we don’t always agree.
I chose to follow with Hope After the Range because I believe in healing. I believe in second chances—for the horses, for the land, and for the people who love them.
And in the end, Sand Wash Basin Wild and Free brings us home—back to the place where it all began, where the horses still run, and where hope still lives on the wind.
This album isn’t about blame.
It’s about responsibility.
It’s about unity.
It’s about standing for something bigger than ourselves.
