Unpopular opinion: A custom wedding dress is not for every bride.
In fact, I often tell potential clients NOT to go custom.
❌ Don’t go custom if your goal is simply to recreate an influencer’s dress you saw online. Custom design is about creating something uniquely yours, not making a copy of someone else’s vision.
❌ Don’t go custom if you want every decision to be driven by emotion. The custom process requires trust, logic, and collaboration. There are hundreds of decisions made throughout the design journey, and not every choice can be based solely on what feels exciting in the moment.
❌ Don’t go custom if you’re only looking at the sticker price. While custom gowns may appear more expensive upfront, many brides are surprised by the hidden costs associated with traditional bridal shopping—alterations, customizations, redesigns, sizing changes, and added details. With custom, you’re often investing in exactly what you want from the beginning.
❌ Don’t go custom if you don’t value flexibility. One of the biggest advantages of a custom gown is that it can adapt alongside real life. Weight changes, fitness goals, pregnancy, cosmetic procedures, health concerns, family circumstances, and timeline shifts can all be accounted for throughout the process.
The best custom clients aren’t looking for a dress.
They’re looking for a solution.
A gown designed specifically for their body, their vision, and their life.
