If you weren't at Kansas Arts Network KANCON, you missed the magic of sharing space with a whole bunch of artist. We had artist in every session creating art about what was going on in the room, artist playing music in the courtyard outside, and artist performing spoken word and dance. Our key note was Jill Sonke . Her keynote reminded my of my own health care battle, how I used my art to imagine the battle in my own body, and how the treatment defeated it. My cup has been refilled, because art is a powerful part of being a healthy human. Happy National Arts & Health Day!

I was recently diagnosed with cervical adenocenomia, a rare form of cervical cancer that effects 12-13,000 women a year in the US. I've decided to battle my enemy by stitching it.
