I know Summer’s just starting and you might think I’m crazy but I want anyone who’s getting married in the Finger Lakes this Winter to know that I want to help them with their wedding attire alterations! Did you know it can sometimes take 8 months for a wedding dress shop to order and receive a specific dress in your size?! And if you’re going the boutique gown route it will need alterations, even if it’s in your size! Generally wedding dresses will need a hem and bustle *at the very least. Other common alterations include strap adjustment, adding cups and taking in at the waist or hips. What you’re going to wear on your wedding day can be a big decision. Enlisting the support of a professional to help you get the perfect fit is a sure way to set yourself up for a stress free confident walk down the aisle towards your happily ever after in comfort and style!

Last weekend I got to set up for some fittings in my new studio! There’s still finishing work to be done so I wasn’t able to start moving in but it was great to take ‘er for a test run! Snagged some flowers, art and crystals for the pop up, even if I’m packin in and packin out I gotta have some special magic for my clients! I’ll be filling it full of all my weird stuff soon enough 🥰 I’m so friggin excited my sweet lil biz will be able to become a part of this working farm and special family homestead 🏡 I’m getting ready to move into a previously unused loft at a multigenerational property, it’s full of magic and the best simple joys there are that come with country livin.

This 1998 wedding dress just got its second chance at love ✨💖✨ The marriage didn’t last, but the dress did! My client Meg was offered her mother’s wedding dress to use to create her wedding dress. She declined but held on to the gown and I am so glad she came to me to help transform this dress! We designed a super sweet two piece look for her rehearsal dinner which was last night. Meg requested energetic cleaning which comes with the High Priestess and Goddess Wedding Dress Packages. so we shook out any divorce juju + before I dug in and started recreating and setting new intentions. Meg kept it a secret from her mom the whole time, and wondered if she would remember or recognize the dress in its new shape. Last night was Meg and Justin’s Rehersal Dinner and big reveal! There’s video! For now, enjoy the dress in its original form.

Happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ I’m really excited to see some events this year! Next Thursday June 11th from 4-6 a coordinated effort from our local libraries presents the First Annual Schuyler Pride Celebration in and June 20th is throwing a Pride Party hosted by my friend ! As an ally to many I know when we were kids here it wasn’t an easy place to grown up gay. I imagine small town USA everywhere is still a little tougher than being in a city, especially during this administration of hate. Rural areas in general just feel tough sometimes. Regardless of where you live or how you love you deserve to celebrate, you deserve Pride, AND I AM PROUD OF YOU! I’m really proud of everyone contributing to and participating in and celebrating at the upcoming Pride Events. There have always been bold LGBTQIA communities in neighboring cities. It’s about time we celebrate right here at home! Oh, and my Color Street nails are super rad right?!!

A big thanks to our friends at Sapore for their support! (They also rotate a delicious Monday night diner service at my family’s winery Rasta Ranch Vineyards when my hubby plays Monday Night Blues!) The warm reception of our first art project fundraiser has been so invigorating! Spring Butterfly Adoptions run through June 14th and we’re at 124 butterflies in our kaleidoscope! I can’t wait to see how far we get -my goal is 400- and the more adopted butterflies the more recycled yellow paper butterflies there will be to contribute to the art installation! I’m raising money before seeking investors and funding as I am in a business growth transition without upstart capital. Floors & cabinets! Homeowners Jenna & John “work partied” all weekend and it’s so exciting to see this gorgeous progress! There are so many super cool synchronicities I can’t wait to tell you all about but let me just share something I think is super cool. OK so Hector doesn’t really have commercial space, and I really wanted to move my biz out of my house but I also really wanted it to stay in Hector … and I GET TO DO THAT! And I get to do that with another really kind and smart and hardworking family who also cares for the land on their multigenerational property. A lot of business owners rent commercial property and use big banks and brokers and pay giant corporations … but I get to rent this beautiful space from beautiful humans. My business gets to receive a vital component to business growth : a physical place to do business … and in exchange I get to contribute to an income generating investment a family made, in part, on my behalf. That’s crazy awesome! Making my business more effective and more sustainable for me and my clients is putting me in a position to receive *and to give* support to others. Every month when I get to pay rent for my studio I get to pay it to a family, to a farm, for an amazing space that was not finished or fully functioning until I asked my community if they knew where I could rent a space for Themis and Thread. That’s fu***ng magical. This town is magical. This lake, these lakes, the community, the land and the water and more than anything else, the people here are magical 😍💖🥹 Thanks for all the love and support through the journey yall! Please know it’s felt and put back out 🌟

New studio progress shot! The finishing work is looking good! My new studio is an *obviously adorable* loft on a beautiful family farm homestead. Owners Jenna and John are a sweet Hector couple raising their family and running a farm where I will get to work my magic and meet my clients soon! They’re doing the finishing work and I implicitly trust all of their choices and simply cannot wait to see and share more! We’re getting so close!
