I finally found a use for the fabric I’ve been hoarding for YEARS. 😂🎃

A few years ago, I found these old upholstery sample books at a craft thrift store for just $4 each. I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with them…but for $4? They were coming home with me. 😂

Fast forward a few years, and SOMEDAY HAS ARRIVED!

I turned those forgotten fabric swatches into this adorable patchwork pumpkin pillow, and I love how all the different colors, patterns, and textures came together. 🍂

And you definitely don’t need upholstery swatches to make one! Dig through your scrap bin, grab some remnants, thrift some fabric, or use regular quilting cotton. This is such a fun project to make completely your own.

Come shopping with me in Lancaster County, PA! 🧵✂️🥨

I came for the fabric… and somehow left with an Amish-made pressing stick, new patterns, Liberty fabric, cross-stitch goodies, handmade sewing tools AND pretzel hair clips. 😂

Lancaster County is seriously a dream if you love sewing, quilting, handmade treasures, and quirky little shops. And yes… I absolutely consider a pretzel hair clip a necessary sewing-trip purchase. 🥨😂

This has always been my favorite photo of Dolly Parton

It would seem appropriate in this moment to also share one of my favorite song lyrics of hers… but the song that keeps coming to mind is one of my favorites by nicholenordeman 🤍 She always seems to find the words for me when I can’t. What a legacy Dolly has left us and an example of what we CAN be if we choose kindness and love the way she did. 🤍

I don’t mind if you’ve got something nice to say about me
And I enjoy an accolade like the rest
And you could take my picture and hang it in a gallery
Of all the who’s-who’s and so-and-so’s
That used to be the best at such and such,
It wouldn’t matter much.
I won’t lie, it feels alright to see your name in lights,

I’ve been hanging onto these home décor sample books for YEARS because I knew someday I’d find the perfect use for them… and apparently someday is today. 😂

The neutral fabrics + all those different textures were basically MADE for patchwork.

Okay, hear me out… what if we started putting quilt blocks on EVERYTHING? 😂🧵

I had this quilt block made from scraps and decided to give a plain denim shirt a little personality—and LOOK HOW CUTE IT TURNED OUT! 😍

It’s easy, beginner friendly, and such a fun way to use those leftover scraps or orphan quilt blocks we all have lying around.

I’m officially obsessed. 😂

Here’s the secret: it’s NOT necessarily the most expensive one! The best sewing machine is the one that fits what you actually want to sew.

Quilts? Bags? Clothes? Repairs? Each one has different features that matter—and you probably don’t need 4,000 fancy stitches. 😂
