The picture is of an antique primitive wine or cider press, featuring a cast-iron screw mechanism and a banded wooden barrel. The press consists of a heavy cast-iron screw top, a hardwood stave barrel, and a sturdy wooden frame. Although historically used for pressing grapes for wine or apples for cider, today they are mostly used in outdoor decor!
