For the first time ever, both of our kids went to acting camp. Same place. Same time.
If you saw our stories last week, you’ll know we spent those 15 hours drinking coffee in Newburgh, Indiana, finding the shady sides of the sidewalks to stretch our legs, and dreaming up an idea that had been in the works for a decade.
No joke - 10 years.
For years Eric has been taking maps and illustrations and layering them into wall art with... you guessed it... meaning ;)
And for years, I was stuck on how to document this process. Partly out of necessity (there were many divide + conquer years when our kids were young and we committed to a homeschool/roadschool life) and partly because Eric spends s o m u c h t i m e on the computer - there are only so many creative angle shots of computer work a girl can take as “BTS content.”
So, with a little free-time pep in our step, we stripped away all the advice and asked ourselves - what makes sense for us?
When everything in life inspires us (we have been training for 10 years - haha!), these 5 photos are my best shot at taking you behind the scenes of what it was like to enjoy a week of Summer medium roast drip-coffee, a fresh sketchbook, and doing it our way.
P.S. Maybe it’s my Leo season energy ramping up, but it feels good to throw out what isn’t working anymore. ~ What playbook are you throwing away? ~ For me, it’s a lot of marketing advice that doesn’t make sense for me and Eric.
1/ Eric sketching the idea.
2/ Talking through the idea over coffee.
3/ A stretch-your-legs moment and noticing the beauty in the details of this iron bench.
4/ “I think I’ve got it.”
5/ This last week of June, our idea bloomed into a fully formed product offering.
