Springtime planting + thrifted items go together like peanut butter and jelly. Old chair - free, sap bucket $11, livened up with red paint, old mailbox $2, painted and added a stencil. 🌺 🐝 Have fun!

Thought I'd share my favorite finds from a weekend of pickin'. The best and biggest is the 22" x 28" framed art, "The Song of the Lark" by Jules Breton. It's stunning! The frame is heavy wood, old, carved and perfect! The original painting is in the Art Institute of Chicago. If I get back there someday, I will definitely seek it out! It's moving... I wouldn't mess with a woman like this, right? She's badass (sorry, not sorry ) ... barefoot, working the fields with a sickle. Interesting "facts" found on the internet claim that this was Eleanor Roosevelt's favorite painting and supposedly stopped Bill Murray from contemplating su***de after seeing it. Like I said, it's moving.
Finally, my favorite small find from the weekend is this Wm A Rodger's silver plated apple shaped condiment serving dish with spoon. It's precious! Both of these items will be available for sale at the Vintage Markets of Monroe Fall sale Oct 1-3.
