Another Chipstar in the books. Wow, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better. 4 days of camping that went by way too fast as I sit here and reminisce about the good times had by all. All the hard work and support by many make it all so rewarding.
I’d like to thank a few people in no particular order, for taking care of all the small things that make it happen, including the awesome t-shirts that were from a painting from Randy Slack.
A huge shoutout to the wonderful people from Mexicali who always show up in force and took care of Friday night dinner, making a whopping 300 tamales with sides to feed everyone on site.
Jontxu Jiménez for handling gate duties, keeping everything well organized. Sean Wendy Alfaro for being onsite medics. Kevin Enos for taking charge with the collection and organizing the Dustin Ballard memorial lantern walk. Staybeardedd for running and serving the chili cook off and keeping the lines moving. My buddy Ron for going all out to help get the grounds in shape, before and after the event. Slammed Apparel ™ for the hats, beanies and stickers. AirMighty for the ever so popular Airmighty books. Slow Ride Garage for all that you do every year.
There were quite a few surprises as well. good friends to all, coming all the way from Hawaii, Kimo Souza Hermane, Saldivar. Joey Cogdill for making the trek all the way from South Carolina in his immaculate ’67 Westy.
My new neighbor and friend Rod @ Emory Motorsports for stopping by for a visit in the original Baja bug was a hit. David Nevarez for displaying his eye candy on the driveway with his newly finished, zwitter split and his super sano 23 window bus.
