The genesis of this initiative can be attributed to the discerning recognition of an opportunity by Mr. Irving Struminger, father to our CEO Donald Struminger and grandfather to our President David Struminger. In 1934, during the height of the Depression, Irving Struminger, along with his brothers Moe and Henry, seized an opportunity in Petersburg, Virginia. Discovering a small hospitality operation for sale lacking laundry facilities, they purchased it, initially named Virginia Coat and Apron. Henry relocated to Petersburg, excelling as a linen sales consultant, fueling the business's growth. Moe handled purchasing from Pittsburgh, and by 1940, Irving moved from New York to manage finances full-time. Thus, the trio—Moe, Henry, and Irving Struminger—embarked on a successful venture.

In 1958, Donald Struminger applied his engineering prowess and military background to the company, instituting procedural documentation, instilling discipline, and guiding the company through significant growth. He introduced central computers and developed POCA, a distinctive profitability software program. As a licensed engineer, he constructed cutting-edge automated facilities. In 1991, David Struminger, with a finance and marketing degree, joined the company. Learning from mentors, he spearheaded growth in Norfolk and Charlottesville, delivering innovative products and services to key hospitality clients. By 2001, at the corporate office, the business expanded geographically, adding four service centers and two highly automated laundries. Our company continues to innovate in products (M Wear), services, facilities, technology (MoGO), and team training.

Our success is rooted in our commitment as a compassionate company. We prioritize care - for each other, our valued customers, the environment, and the communities in which we operate.
