Job description
A family owned company founded in 1987, Design Master Displays manufactures custom retail display fixtures for Hardware, Grocery, Convenience, and all types of stores. We are a full-service manufacturer providing retailers with custom merchandising solutions that increase product sales. We offer expeditious design, prototype, and manufacturing services, as well as excellent customer service and decades of experience, to our customers in the fast-paced retail environment. Our 90,000 Square Foot facility located in High Point, NC is equipped with all the technology, tools and equipment, including CNC/Robotic machinery Capabilities, needed to design and manufacture display fixtures from wire, metal tubing, sheet metal, wood, and plastic. We also provide warehousing and fulfillment services, shipping to retail locations across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
Position: Machine Operator
Category: Fabrication and metal forming (Press brakes, presses, deburring, tube / wire forming)
Physical Requirements:
1) Must be able to pull (not lift) sheets of metal up to 25 lbs off of metal stacks occasionally.
2) Must be able to squat / bend at the knees and lift parts up to 15 lbs each occasionally.
3) Must be able to bend, squat, carry parts up to 5 lbs each continuously.
4) Must be able to bend slightly at waist to load parts into machines at start of cycle.
5) Must be able (with assistance) to push heavily loaded part carts throughout the facility.
6) Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift in order to operate equipment.
7) Must be able to hold parts and lift arms to shoulder level during machine cycle.
8) Must be able to wear all safety equipment all day as required (gloves, glasses, hearing muffs, etc.)
9) Must be able to work in non-air-conditioned environment during summer months.
10) Must be able to work in non-heated environment during winter when outside doors are opened.
Operational Requirements:
1) Must be able to operate assigned equipment safely and to meet product quality specifications.
2) Must be able to use measuring equipment including but not limited to tape measures and calipers to the finest increment on the instrument.
3) Must be able to identify all safety equipment and improper function on equipment under operation.
4) Must be able to perform daily cleanup / maintenance as required for each machine used.
5) Must be able to operate small hand tools for grinding / deburring parts as required.
Communication Requirements:
1) Must be able to read product drawing (in English).
2) Must be able to read quality specifications and documents (in English).
3) Must be able to record data from quality checks onto documents as required.
4) Must be able to communicate with operations supervision (in English).
5) Must be able to perform basic mathematics (add / subtract) with accuracy.
General Requirements:
1) Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
2) Must be willing to work other jobs as required in any area of Design Master Displays.
3) Must be willing to take direction from multiple supervisors / area leads depending on assignment.
