BEWARE of a pattern that calls for blocking!!!
Take this extremely simple star pattern for example.
The one on the left calls for you to pin and block the star points so it does not look like a flower.
The one on the right is my pattern tweaked to have the points built in.
This took 2 simple changes in the pattern and will save a ton of time!

What is blocking? In short simple terms, a waste of time. You pin a project in a position you want it to go, often stretching and twisting it from the original form. You then steam it and let it dry still pinned in the new shape. Well what happens when the customer washes the project? It will go back to the original shape or even look distorted from the heat being applied to it. Do yourself a favor, learn from the mistakes! Trial and error. Some patterns take years to perfect so be patient!

FREE PATTERN:
R1- Make a magic ring. Into the ring you can start with a mock double crochet and CH1(video on my page!) or make a CH4.
Repeat 9x, *DC, CH1*
You will have a total of 10 DC and 10 CH1. Tighten the ring and SLST to top of MDC or 3rd CH.

R2- SLST into the CH1 sp and make a SC. Into the next CH1 sp, make 1 DC, 1 TC, CH2. SLST in the back loop of 1st CH of CH2 that you just made. 1 TC, 1 DC.
SLST into the next CH1 sp and SC.
Repeat this around in every CH1 sp until you make 5 points! Cut and tie off to sew in your ends.

Just finished these little cutie leg warmers for a commission. I love the way they turned out 🥰
