Dearest Hillsboro community,

It is with great sorrow that we share this news. Our property management company has made the decision not to renew the lease for Perks of Art. Our last day on 4th and Main is August 31st. What does this mean for the future of Perks? We are hoping to take certain aspects of our business online, and hope to potentially open a new location sometime in the future. But, like so many things in this world and at this time, there is so much uncertainty. One thing we are certain of, however, is our gratitude for our community. Perks of Art has been so incredibly fortunate to have the support, loyalty, and friendship of Hillsboro residents and beyond. We’re also deeply grateful for the wonderful artists that have displayed and sold their work at our shop since the beginning, and those who’ve joined us along the way.

Elina Zebergs uses encaustic, a wax-based painting medium that originated with the Ancient Greeks over 3000 years ago! The method uses beeswax and a tree gum called damar resin. This results in the incredibly lovely, multidimensional pieces that you see here.
