Aloha, kakou! This week marks my tenth year selling my bleached designs at Big Island markets.

On 11/29/15, at the Maku’u Farmers Market, I started out with about 6 designs. I sold just two shirts on that first day. But at my next market a few days later, I increased my sales by 50%! 😄
And I kept working. In that first month, I sold a total of 75 shirts. By then I’d created several more designs, including the Honu, which is still one of my best sellers. Today my booth customers have a choice of over 100 design, style and color combinations, with many more available in my online store, adifferentvein.com.

It’s been challenging riding the ups and downs of the economy, eruptions, the pandemic, and more these past ten years. It’s also been a joy—perfecting my process, creating new designs, and meeting so many people from the Big Island and across the globe.

I am so grateful for the support of my repeat customers. So in appreciation, I have a little gift. Come by my booth at the Maku’u Farmers Market or the Hilo Farmers Market this month wearing one of my shirts* and get $5 off your purchase.
