Throwback time...after starting with leaves and found objects, this was one of the first t-shirts I made using a detailed design, back in 2009. It was a one-off stencil cut from freezer paper. Hat tip to any fellow nerds who recognize the theme. 🙂

ʻAlalā, or Hawaiian crow, that was historically found on the Big Island now is extinct in the wild, but a pilot release program in East Maui may change that status.

On a secluded beach graced with hala and naupaka, honuʻea (hawksbill turtle) hatchlings, guided by moonlight, begin their perilous journey. The males will never return to land. The females that survive- about 1 in 1000-may one day find their way back to this beach to lay their own eggs.
My newest design honors their remarkable odyssey. Now in stock on black unisex crews, and other colors by special order.

UPDATE: I am now back to my regularly scheduled programming! Hilo Farmers Market, Wed. and Sat. 8-2 or so, and Makuʻu Farmers Market from 7-12 most Sundays except when I am at the Kona Village Stroll. Stroll dates this fall are Oct. 22, Nov. 19, and Dec. 10.

Join Us at Kokua Kailua This Sunday! Alii Drive is the place to be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm for a festive, pedestrian-only outdoor marketplace that makes for a great family-friendly experience. Leashed dogs are welcome too!

The free event is presented by the Kailua Village Business Improvement District and was started in 2008 as a KVBID initiative to attract visitors and kamaaina to the Village to buy local.

I create my garments in small “artisanal” batches 😄so it’s easy to do special orders. Recently a lady who paddles with a local canoe club asked me to do the outrigger design on a v neck, in red, because that’s her club color. I resized it a bit to fit, and she loves it. Now that I have the smaller stencil, I can also offer this design on a ladies tank!

This Sunday, April 16, Alii Drive is the place to be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm for a festive, pedestrian-only outdoor marketplace that makes for a great family friendly experience. Dinner at the Manago is one of the best parts of doing the Kokua Kailua Stroll each month. The ono sautéed in butter is my go-to. 💕 The food is wonderful, and so is the staff!
