Janice Collier Design Janice Collier is a sustainability focused designer and sewing teacher from Great Britain.

Using 100% American Milled Organic Cotton fabrics with a focus on practical comfort, to make unique vintage inspired children's clothing in North Carolina, USA. Founded in 2008 by Janice Collier, Janice Collier Designs use only the best quality fabrics to make individually sewn and hand finished clothing and accessories for women, girls and boys. Janice is the main designer, who has been creating apparel and fashion accessories, suited to many age ranges, for most of her life. Producing a variety of stylishly handmade items for quality aware individuals, who desire more than what the high street offers. Janice Collier Designs creates apparel and accessories for those who wants a unique statement piece. All designs can be customised to specific requirements and each design can be tailored using the fabrics offered through the website. Janice Collier Designs also runs morning and afternoon drop-in sewing sessions on Wednesdays for those who wish to learn a technical skill or work on a particular project. More Saturday workshops will be announced in due course and on the Janice Collier Designs website, page and Twitter feed.

A fully lined bodice and underskirt which gives extra body, hand sewn buttons on the back opening, and gold braid around the bodice.

Odette dresses ready for Fall in a pretty, cotton flower print. I changed the princess seam from the shoulder to the armhole, hand-finished the lining, and added an invisible zip in the back center for easy dressing and a lovely flair from the waist.

Drafting a new dress today, a sleeveless, princess seam with flare.

I start with the card dress block, on medical paper, make changes, then I transfer onto Pellon using their 830 easy pattern. It's perfect for checking the toile before cutting out the fabric.

So a long weekend spent taking what should be a 4 shaft weaving pattern and changing it to 3 rigid heddles (1st time I've done this). It's proving to be quite a challenge.
