Not to be outdone by the specimens, the new slabs are pretty cool too. They are each unique and the black rose slabs light such a cool red, purple and blue. The black tourmaline in quartz have such cool patterns. All are available. Think they are all under $20 ea. Can send info upon request. Prefer USA shipping only if needed.

Here are some of the fabulous new Amethyst and Fluorite pieces from Nigeria that are available. Mark Your Calendar for this! We are super excited to see everyone again this year for the Halloween Trunk or Treat. We will be staying open late and partnering with Wilson's Barn, who is directly across 33hwy from us, to do some fun Giveaways as well! Don't miss it!!! We are also excited to go to the Fire Station before 9pm to enjoy their charity spaghetti dinner and silent auction. We have sent some really fun items for you to bid on this year. As much as we want you to come see the full store of goodies, this is a great option for you this weekend! Jesse James Antique Mall is celebrating their 29th year Anniversary and it is a GREAT Deal for you. They are making it possible for you to save 25% this weekend! There won't be a better time to go pick up those items you have been thinking about. Great time to explore if you have never been there. And a GREAT way to start your Christmas and party shopping needs. There are two malls there in one parking lot too, as The Rusty Chandelier is right there.

NEW SPECIMEN ALERT!!!!

This new special find brings two of the most popular minerals into one amazing find.

No Amethyst or Fluorite junkies will want to resist the pull of these amazing pieces.

These specific specimens are from a popular recent find in Nigeria, specifically coming from the Akwana Deposit (Logo Local Government Area, Benue State).

This geological pocket is highly distinct because the mineral growth happened in clear sequential stages: first forming a base matrix of cubic fluorite (which fluoresces bright, intense blue/violet under UV light as seen in your second photo), followed by a secondary growth layer of gemmy amethyst peaks, and finally finishing with a heavy sprinkling of metallic sulfide minerals.

The Greenish-Grey Mineral Mixture

The metallic coating on top is a complex mix of minerals rather than just pure gold-colored pyrite. The duller greenish-grey, silver, or brassy-olive coating dusting the surfaces is typically composed of:

Galena: This sulfide mineral often deposits right alongside the pyrite in this specific Nigerian pocket, giving a darker metallic, silvery-grey, or slightly lead-tinted texture to the crust.

Manganese Oxides / Coatings: A fine, dark dusting of manganese or altered iron minerals frequently alters the surface sheen of the pyrite crystals, casting a greenish, olive, or darkened charcoal-grey tint over the brassy pyrite.

Chalcopyrite and/or Malachite Film: In some areas of the deposit, minor trace amounts of copper elements associate with the iron sulfides. This results either in chalcopyrite (which has a naturally greener, deeper yellow-green iridescence than pyrite) or tiny microscopic oxidation traces of green malachite.

Other Minerals- Some pieces also contain Sphalerite and Siderite. Plus, a green crystal we have not identified yet.

We have sourced just over 20kgs and are thrilled to have them. They will be available soon.

What a beautiful Saturday!! If you are around St. Joseph area you should definitely check out Jesse James Antique Mall. We have fully restocked all our areas there, 6 in total. Both lighted cases and open shelving with not only or awesome items from our store but also unique vintage items and antiques as well. In fact, I'm not sure I have room to add anything else. 😂😁
We also restocked the Mystery Bags and vinyl albums, too. They are open 7 days a week and since there is another store, The Rusty Chandelier in the same parking lot to shop at too. You could literally spend a whole day there happily.

Our Main store in Holt, Rocks & Records is open Fri-Sat 12-6pm and Sun 12-4pm and is well worth the trip to come see in person. But, if you can't make it to Holt, St. Joe and 24 Thrift Antique Mall in Independence has our items well stocked as well. Happy Hunting!!

I made it out to 24 Thrift Antique Mall in Independence yesterday and added some fun new things and added things to the top of the cabinets too. And we still have a few great vintage dolls you can "Creepy Up" for Halloween, too. The lights were off in the back area so no pics there but you can zoom in on the main booth's pics. If you love rocks and crystals, need unique gifts, vintage items or new bling..... Come check out the store. They are open Thur-Mon 10-7

Sometimes you just never know what you will find when you buy old collections. I have been blessed to purchase parts of some great collections. What is most exciting is finding the old labels and even markings on the pieces from their own field collecting. Today was a great example of hidden jewels. I came across a cute Tsuemb Azurite/Malachite. The pieces from that locality are better than many other places, though it has been closed to mining for many years. This came from a pretty famous collector/dealer and the details on this thumbnail size piece are truly amazing. Macro people would love it. Estimated to be sold around 1960's-70's. Original price of only $4. WOW!!
With the provence and display of it, let's say it may be 100 times more valuable now. You just never know, there may be a diamond in the rough hiding in someones old hunted treasures. My camera is supposed to be good but it doesn't zoom in very clearly, sadly. But this tiny example is packed with other minerals and very unique malachite designs with cool patterns. Ones you would only expect to see on big polished pieces. The natural etching on the azurite faces are so shiny and deep. I see where getting it professionally prepped would really set it off. But I think I'll keep him as is. Small but mighty. Grateful to have it in our collection. Also, a pic of few new things that hit the shelves today.
