Somebody better tell these shirts to COOL DOWN before they melt all the ice cream!

We’re honored to continue creating custom apparel for our friends at Be A Lion Ice Cream Co. in Downtown Crestview! There’s just something about that lion logo that looks GOOD on a shirt.

Now the real question…

Do we need to tell Mr. Erik he better order MORE?! Because I have a feeling these aren’t going to stay on the shelf very long!

Supporting another local business is always pretty sweet, although apparently I’m still not allowed behind the ice cream counter. Something about “health codes” and “dog hair.”

Okay… so apparently Mom and Dad got to do something REALLY freaking cool last night — and somehow they decided the CEO of Freedom Life Apparel didn’t need an invitation.

They got to help 25 BABY SEA TURTLES make their way to the Gulf!

These tiny little dudes hatched just 3 days ago from a nest of 83 eggs, and Mom and Dad got to be there as they started one of the biggest adventures of their lives.

I’ll admit… that’s pretty awesome.

BUT — and this is important — you know what would have made it even better?

ME.

I have four-wheel drive.
I’m excellent on sand.
I’m a professional supervisor.
And I absolutely could have provided turtle security.

Instead, I apparently stayed home while Mom and Dad were out there living a real-life National Geographic episode.

Rude.

But seriously, getting to protect these little guys and watch them head toward their new home is one of those experiences they’ll probably never forget.

25 tiny turtles. One big ocean. One incredible night. 🌊🐢🌙

Y’all go check out our friends and their new journey. All of you have helped this small business grow, let’s go help them.

🌱 We’ve been growing something behind the scenes… 🤫 and we’re so excited to finally introduce Little Ark Hollow, our micro nursery. 🌱

Nate’s ability to build or fix most anything and my love of gardening and herbalism led to a interest of growing my own plants from seed — and, naturally, that turned into a pretty serious rabbit hole. 😂 Over the past year, I’ve spent countless hours learning which varieties don’t just grow in our Northwest Florida climate, but truly thrive here.

Some are heirlooms that have been passed down for generations, some are hybrids with a little extra resistance to our wild Florida weather and pests, some are just for the pollinators because those guys are important and my personal favorites are the rare and unusual varieties that let us grow and taste something a little different from what we see at the big box stores.

There’s just something beautiful about watching a tiny, unsuspecting seed become food that nourishes our bodies or a flower that nourishes our souls. And I love being able to share what I’ve learned along the way.

Gardening is work — and sometimes Florida will humble you real quick 😂 — but it is also incredibly rewarding. If you’ve ever wanted to grow something of your own, I hope we can encourage you to give it a try.

So here we go. 💚 Little Ark Hollow is officially growing.

Around here, every day is basically Dog Day… especially when one of them thinks he’s the CEO.

So apparently a couple weeks ago, Dad decided he needed himself a new toy. 🙄

I thought we were DONE with these two-wheeled, loud-as-hell, human zoomie machines… but apparently nobody consulted the CEO before another one showed up.

This weekend, Dad got to take his new noise maker out for something that actually matters, the Paul “Off Road” Peacock Memorial Ride.

Our friend Sarah managed to catch a pretty awesome picture of Dad’s good side.
BUTTTTT… Sarah also managed to cut off part of the design on the back of his shirt.

Normally, as CEO, I’d have to write her up for incomplete product photography… BUT I’m gonna let this one slide.

Because now you guys just got a little sneak peek at something new we’ve been working on at Freedom Life Apparel.

But you’ll have to wait to see the rest.

This is Nitrox, CEO of Freedom Life Apparel, with Peyton assisting because apparently Dad thought he was going to get away without making a big deal about today.

Dad may claim he runs Freedom Life Apparel, but we all know the truth. I run the company. Peyton handles security. Dad is basically here to make shirts, fill orders, drive us around, and fund our snack department. 😂

This Saturday, Freedom Life Apparel will be at the American Legion Post in Crestview for the 4th Annual Paul “Offroad” Peacock II Memorial Ride!

Of course, I’ll be there supervising to make sure everyone looks GREAT in their event shirts.

But here’s the big part: From now through the event, proceeds from every FLA purchase, including official event swag, will go directly to support the Memorial Ride. So if you’ve been eyeing something from FLA, this is the week to grab it!

And you do NOT have to have known Paul to come out Saturday.

Paul’s family is raising money to sponsor a room at the Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola in his memory. That room will help families from our community and surrounding areas stay close to their children while they receive medical care, helping remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing during some of their hardest days.

So come ride. Come hang out. Come support. Come shop. Whether you knew Paul personally or you simply want to support a local family doing something incredible in his memory, you are welcome.
