Today is the installation/delivery day for the exhibition that starts tomorrow

In the breaks between creating,
the meals and conversations I shared with my mom
were precious moments

I’ll exhibit my work at Nanohana Kurashi no Douguten (Nanohana Lifestyle Tools Shop) in Odawara from tomorrow

When I traveled to Venice, I was captivated by the glass beads and brought some home with me

Although I don’t usually work with stones or glass in my creations,
for the summer exhibition
I made jewelry that gives a cool, refreshing impression

I experimented with encapsulating glass and layering objects

ヴェネツィアを旅した際、ガラスビーズに魅せられて、いくつか持ち帰りました

ガラスの透明感
触れるとひんやり

何かにしようとは思わず、ただ眺めて楽しんでいました

でも、眺めているだけはそろそろやめて、個展用にネックレスにしてみました

ガラスを封じ込めたり、オブジェを重ねてみたり、作っていて楽しかったです

As my lifework, I have continued to confront and engage with the forms of natures

Silver leaves held in my hands,
and the faint shadows cast upon them

The desire to preserve those shadows together with the leaves has grown stronger, and now I am carefully adding shadows to each individual silver leaf and flower

Without forgetting the passion I had when I first started creating jewelry, and without becoming arrogant about how much more capable I’ve become since then, I would be truly happy if you could feel a sense of warmth and inclusiveness from the pieces I make

From August 8 to 18,
I will once again hold a solo exhibition at Nanohana Kurashi no Douguten. I would be truly grateful if you could come and see it.

ライフワークとして植物の形状に向き合い、作業を続けてきました

手元に置かれる銀葉
そこに映し出される
ほのかな影

それも一緒に残したい気持ちが高まって、一つ一つの銀葉に影をつける作業をしています

初心でもなく、老心でもない
どの地点なのでしょう　
包む心みたいなものが
一番近い気がしています

These two things
have been my long-standing challenge

The hollow ◯ ring—

it is the moon,
it is the sun,
it is a ripple on the water,
it is a shooting star

The ◯ is
inside me,
the very first snowball
I ever made in my life

軽い
そして
存在感がある

このふたつが
長年の課題だ

中空の◯指輪

月であり
太陽であり
水紋であり
流れ星でもある
その◯は

私の中では
生まれて初めて
作った雪玉です

I used to call them
*Star seeds*

but I recently learned
their true name is
Beechnuts

Those little seeds,
with their faint, gentle sweetness

carry within them
the memories of the earth and the sun

Glistening silver,
they melt into the waves—
fragments of a dream

I line up the things
I’ve made
as if to say,
“Look at this—
every last one.”

Even the person looking
might find it suffocating

But ever since I started
placing green in between them gives space to take a break from my work with emotional attachment

taking photographs of the plants and trees
that catch my eye
has become one of my favorite ways to spend my free time

Even when the greenery is this dense,
it somehow feels like gives me a peaceful space

Perhaps because they simply exist there,
without any pretense,
with the quiet generosity of simply being alive

maybe it’s because these things,
which have no heart,
silently answer
the question that draws me to them for no reason

the question of existence itself

私が作ったものを
これでもかと並べて

見せられる方も
息苦しいかと

合間に緑を
入れるように
なってから

目に入る草木を
写真に残すことが
余暇の楽しみに
なっている

これだけ緑が
密集していても　
余白のように
感じるのは

気を衒うことなく
ただそこにある
生きる余裕と

心を持たない
はずのものに
理由なく
惹きつけられる
存在への問いに

無言で答えている
からかもしれない
