😆Big news✈️:: Iʻm thrilled to be island hopping to Honolulu with a traveling hui of other bold Kauaʻi makers, creatives, and small businesses this upcoming Friday to participate as a vendor at artandflea 🎉

Aly ゆり Ishikuni — at Art + Flea and Capitol Modern are focusing the Island Pulse event spotlight on Kauaʻi vendors on October 16th—so if youre on Oʻahu, please come and check us out from 5:30-9:30. It’s been a whirlwind month since Lowell swiped us. Still reeling while Kauaʻiʻs economy reminds me of my garden: extremely sluggish🐌. Some folks, like me, are part of storefronts that can’t reopen for a while, others are trying to make it work at markets and shops, but the sales traffic just isn’t there yet (even though the island is, for the most part, back to normal and open for visitors—the arrivals are 50% of what’s typical). Artists and businesses remain devoted to their work, hustling, and eager to meet customers. So while we wait for the numbers to normalize, we’re taking things into our own hands and bringing our goods to a wider audience & fresh opportunities IRL.
Lore: when I lived on O’ahu in machinemachine’s infancy I used to vend at Art + Flea and MORI by Art+Flea — waaaaay back in the OG Kaka’ako days and I met so many amazing artists and friends through that scene. Itʻll be fun to be in the big city with our Kauaʻi caravan who I rallied to do this with. Some of my favorite makers and designers, vintage resellers and shopkeepers—slide to see whoʻs on board!
