The 1950s marked a defining chapter in aloha wear. As air travel expanded and Hawaiʻi entered a golden era of tourism, the aloha shirt stepped onto an international stage. Influenced by mid-century modern design, prints began to stylize island motifs into bold, simplified forms with confident scale and clean composition.

Drawn from our archive, King’s Shells reflects that moment in design history. Part of our 90th Anniversary Through the Decades collection, the reissue is crafted in signature cotton broadcloth and made in Hawai‘i with vintage details like coconut buttons and a matched front.
