Jordan Day is performing at Static on Monday August 24th! 🫶 Jordan Day
Originally native to a rural swathe of the Pacific Northwest, Jordan Day has been on the move since the age of 18. First Texas, then North Carolina, he eventually landed in Nashville, Tennessee. Far from the usual sound of music city, Jordan’s brand of country/folk music is reminiscent to the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, and Merle Haggard. It is a stark contrast to what is heard on Lower Broadway in the current age.
Jordan’s close proximity to the American underground metal scene has made what some may call “strange” bedfellows for a country singer and guitar picker.
With backing from Austin Lunn (Panopticon, Weft, Ahamkara), Charlie Anderson (Panopticon, Weft), and Andrea Morgan (Exulansis, The Keening, Weft) Jordan released his debut LP “Learning to be Empty,” in May of 2026. It’s eleven tracks of honest, raw explorations of topics such as substance abuse, sobriety, spiritual confusion, and heart sickness. The seams are rusted but the linings shine silver.
“…Day belongs to that club of extraordinarily gifted but troubled American troubadours whose members include Woody Guthrie, Phil Ochs et al.” -Songlines
“Day’s songs tend toward minor key whiskey-soaked laments… he reached for the transcendent and grasped it”-Decibel
