Extend Your Golf Glove Lifespan: Clean Your Grips

I share my best tip for extending the lifespan of your golf glove in under 10 seconds. The key is to wash your grips regularly. When you clean your grips, you get more traction, which means less friction between your hand and the grip. Less friction equals less wear and tear on your golf glove. I challenge you to think about when you last cleaned your grips.

How to Grip Your Golf Club Properly to Extend Your Golf Glove’s Life…

We discuss the proper golf club grip technique to reduce wear on your golf glove and improve your game. We show you how to grip the club with about a thumb’s length of the butt extending out, which gives you better control, reduces spin, tightens your dispersion, and most importantly, prevents the constant rubbing that wears out gloves prematurely. We explain why gripping too high on the club causes excessive wear in one spot and demonstrate the correct grip position used by professional golfers.

Gear Effect: Why You’re Destroying Your Golf Gloves

I explain the gear effect in golf and how it’s the reason you’re constantly going through gloves. When you hit the toe of the club, it naturally opens, and when you hit the heel, it naturally closes. This causes friction and wear on your glove. I show slow-motion footage demonstrating how the club twists in your hand during impact, pulling and chewing away at the glove material. The solution is simple: hit the center of the club face. By focusing on hitting the sweet spot square, you’ll eliminate gear effect, reduce glove wear, and improve your game.

Introducing Golf Glove University: The Glove Father’s New Series

We’re launching a new series called Golf Glove University where we discuss everything about golf gloves. We cover different types of materials, wear patterns, grip techniques, and how various club grips—from corded grips to dry tack and Golf Pride grips—affect your glove. We explore the relationship between grip choice and glove wear and tear. I’m excited to lead this series as the Glove Father and invite you to join us.
