On Monday, from the and our hometown from the became the first female play-by-play announcers to call an regular season game on both the home and road broadcasts. While Julia was trading places for a game with fellow Astros broadcast teammate , the named their primary play-by-play announcer in February 2024, making her the first female to hold this position ever in . It was a WILD finish for the at last night - did you catch it?!

scored a touchdown with only 12 seconds left in the fourth quarter, going up 39-35 and seemingly on their way to victory. Undeterred, the returned the kickoff and had time for two plays. With three seconds left, QB threw up a from midfield that was tipped and then CAUGHT by WR , putting the Coogs on top 41-39 as time expired. What a finish!!! Check out the pass in our IG story.

How about those ?! The swept the in the last night, eliminating a foe who had 16 more wins than them during the regular season.

While always has such beautiful blue skies, we realize blue isn’t necessarily a DBack team color - those, friends, are tears…

There’s likely lots of blame to go around, but ’s starting pitching for the NLDS was historically bad. Combined, the three starters lasted only 4.2 IP while giving up 16 H, 13 ER, 4 BB, and 5 HR ~ a combined ERA over 25. Has everyone’s champagne headache finally worn off? 🍾🥽

It was a WILD finish to the AL’s division over the weekend, coupled with some intrastate social media and word wars. The drama started when the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros both clinched playoff berths on Saturday after Game 161, but the division title was still on the line. This is the first postseason for the since 2016, and they marked the accomplishment with champagne, goggles, plastic sheeting, party lights, and a lot of adult beverages being sprayed around. The had a champagne toast. Photos and videos of both are posted by each team on their own respective social media accounts (and also posted in our story today).

The drama continued on Sunday, when the Ranger got shut out by the Seattle Mariners, losing 1-0 with the title still up for grabs. Conversely, the Astros beat the Diamondbacks 8-1, securing their sixth division title in seven seasons via tiebreaker. Accusations of the Rangers partying on Saturday and not getting down to business then lit up social media.

Ranger GM then ripped a Houston reporter’s tweet as “classless” and insisted “we had a very subdued champagne popping, but beyond that there was, there was no partying.” Hmmm…we’ll let you judge the photos and videos, but if that was the Rangers’ version of a “subdued champagne toast”, please invite us to the party the next time they win the , because that is going to be a P-A-R-T-Y!!!!!

It took all 162 regular season games to determine the champ ~ congratulations to the for winning the 9-4 over the Rangers and securing the division title!

Now on to bigger things, though ~ the starts today, and both teams from are IN! The started the strong, winning Game 1 over the 4-0, and Houston awaits the winner of the vs series in the . Let’s , y’all. ⚾️

Sunday was a great day to be a fan. Congratulations to legend, , for being only the third person ever inducted into the on Sunday. After being selected by the in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, dismissed a few draft party boos on social media saying: “That’s OK, they don’t know me. No worries, just a new challenge and a new opportunity to change some people’s minds.”

From there, #99 got to work, hard work, and ultimately became one of the best ambassadors this city has ever known. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year racked up numerous accolades during his NFL career, but Houstonians will always remember what he did in 2017. When the flood waters of ravaged our city, Watt leveraged his star power hoping to raise $200,000 to help the communities affected by one of the most devastating natural disasters in US history. Watt ended up raising over $40 MILLION.

JJ will always be “one of us”, and we echo his IG sentiments from last week:
“Houston is family. Forever.”

Congrats, JJ, and best of luck with everything the future holds for you, Kealia, and Koa (who was sporting a “Ring of Honor” jacket to match his dad’s, courtesy of the McNairs). 🤍
