My name is Larry Godfrey and I am the owner of Larry's Sewing Machine Repair. I have grown up in a large family of quilters and sewers and have done a lot of sewing myself over the years. I have a particular fondness for taking an old rundown sewing machine and making it usable again. I will always treat your machine with care and will work to get it running and sewing to your satisfaction!
Servicing: When I professionally service a machine I clean it inside and out, oil it, apply new grease if needed, change the needle, check all the timings, check the foot pedal/electrical, and make sure the machine sews great!. The cost is $85 plus tax, plus any parts that might be required. I do not currently service or repair Sergers or embroidery type machines.
Repair: I will repair most brands of older vintage machines (pre-1980). I do not repair machines that have computer boards.
Restoration: I will clean and do some restoration work on your old machine but usually the time involved for a more comprehensive restoration is cost prohibitive. I will show you what you can and can't do to restore it yourself. I do have a contact that will restore/refinish sewing cabinets and other woodwork and he does a fantastic job. He also paints old sewing machines.
For Sale: I always have a number of vintage machines that I have personally restored and are ready for someone to take home! They look and sew great! (I will be posting pictures).
Hours: I am open for business during the following hours but by appointment only:
M-F. 9 - 6 pm
Sat. 10 - 6 pm
Sun. 1 - 6 pm
Please call or text for appointment. Thanks!
