During one of her travels to Spain, Micki acquired this unique original etching. She collects historical artifacts from all of her trips since she travels a lot.
Trivia about Iglesia De Belen:
The original building was a part of the College of Our Lady Belen, the first Jesuit-run institution of higher study, and it was built in 1553. But it wasn't that building; it had to be rebuilt after a fire destroyed it in 1671, so what you see there now isn't the original one. It was rebuilt between 1680 and 1729 under the supervision of the Jesuits Pau Diego de Lacarre, a sculptor, and Francisco Tort, an architect. Josep Juli was in charge of the design, although the interior ornamentation wasn't finished until 1855. The structure was transformed into a parish of the Diocese following the expulsion of the Jesuits from Spain in 1767. It was set on fire in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War, losing its elaborate Baroque interior to the flames.
