What fun this was!!! If anyone has “moxie” certainly do! Well, we at Moxie love and respect their tour de force collection offered by the inimitable so much so that we teamed up for an in-store collaboration. Custom screen featuring the Le Grand Tour wallpaper and pair of antique neoclassical swan chairs dressed in Hotch Potch Crazy Quilt fabric make for a perfectly layered vignette and currently available in the boutique . The other fun pics are from a recent trip to LA where we honored to visit Johnson’s outstanding home. Watch for more pieces and vignette post coming soon!!! A little custom made jewelry (coin table) for IL Cuculo made in-house . The console table is iron with swags of gold plated coin chain and the 19th century Majolica urn makes for the perfect champagne bucket! Oo-la-la. Design by Photo by

Sometimes I just want to “belly up to the bar” as I’ve heard some of the old timers say…although I’m not one who wants to call attention to my midsection! 🫣 I will tell you that the barstools we designed and made in-house for IL Cuculo are the most comfortable ever! We used butter soft top grade leather and the scale is oh so right even for the most discerning derrière 😝. Great job . Don’t miss this little gem when in Round Top, Texas. I’ve always thought that design should be “fun” and at times I love walking the line of whimsy especially in the hospitality or public arena. At IL Cuculo bar we provided an environment for those who either enjoy a bit of folly and/or a little more serious atmosphere. Why not have the best of both worlds??? The tension created between the two makes for a more exciting experience. It’s amazing how even in a small space one can have multiple experiences. The walls and hand painted mirrors by are so fab!!! Having just returned from Europe while spending time in Paris, Rome and Florence my mind at times wanders back to the incredible beauty I was surrounded by daily. In mere weeks it will once again be time to put on our boots and scour the tent-filled pastures and rustic structures of Round Top, Texas in hopes of finding that special imported jewel. If you haven’t already, take a moment and stop into the newly designed IL Cuculo bar and private lounge we created for and you might just find yourself transported in part to one of the fabulous European cities of which I just returned….
