I want to first express my deep gratitude to our community for not only your belief, but for your support of FPK over the years. FPK would have never become what it was without you and I hope that this is not the end, but a pause in our vision to build empathy, connection and belonging in the world.

A few years ago, our team came together to discuss the future of FPK and we unanimously decided to keep going. We had dreams of books, of collaborations and of becoming financially stable while sticking firmly to our values- something that has proved to be extremely difficult in this changing landscape.

Some of you may know about my husband’s new job in London, and despite me finding and creating my dream home in South Florida which will remain as our base in the US ✨❤️✨, my son and I will be moving to join him this summer.

We are super excited about this next adventure for our family, but this transition also felt like the right time to wrap up FPK and close the business.

From very humble beginnings and endless hours of work, I am so proud of what we were able to achieve with this small business. FPK allowed me to not only step into, but FULLY embrace my creative self- something I never felt confident enough to do before.

From speaking on a keynote panel in front of hundreds of people, to being awarded the Oppenheim Platinum Toy Award, to collaborating with Valarie Kaur and the Revolutionary Love Project to design and create Wonder Baby, this endeavor has literally exceeded my wildest dreams, all the while laying a foundation to inspire the next generation of global citizens. This business has grown alongside my son and introduced me to people I now call dear friends.

While I’m not sure what’s to come…some ideas are already percolating, and I know my creative dreams will continue to grow.

I’ll likely create a couple more posts, highlighting more of my favorite FPK moments…and to say thank you, once again, for your support and belief in our vision. And let’s not forget how we need to continue to dedicate ourselves to building more empathy, compassion & belonging in the world because I believe, now more than ever, that our future depends on it

At FPK, we envision a future where children (and all people) experience love and acceptance over hatred and fear. Where we all feel empowered, as global citizens, to engage in conversations that matter in a brave way. Where child-like wonder and curiosity extends into adulthood to create a world full of empathy, connection, and belonging.

It is because of this vision that we do the work that we do. Thank you to all who have joined us thus far and we hope to welcome in many more in the future.

Thank you to all of the people that have helped me stay true to my values and purpose. Although the current world we are living in is far different than I ever anticipated, it helps me stay grounded and focused, knowing that our mission in powerful and still holds true.

When I started For Purpose Kids, I had no idea where it would lead. It was a project that brought together my passion for helping kids feel safe and loved, my desire to do something meaningful and became an outlet for my creative self.

I spent years trying to build a sustainable business model, yet struggled to do so, in part because I wasn’t willing to do some of the things necessary to become “profitable” in a landscape that prioritizes profits over people and planet (at least that’s what I tell myself when I face the years of a “failing” business).

But over the past couple of years, I made the conscious decision to allow For Purpose Kids to be what is perhaps was always meant to be- a creative outlet and a passion project that serves to allow me to collaborate with meaningful organizations like Sunaayy Foundation, OneSky for all children and Revolutionary Love Project.

A chance meeting with Valarie Kaur at the 2.0 Summit provided me the opportunity to gift her our Global Kidizen doll, Ravi from India, for her children and led to one of the most loving hugs and a vibrant conversation about the children’s book she was working on. After a year of participation in the Revolutionary Love Project’s Early Childhood cohort and talks with her team about my desire to do more to elevate their work, I received an email from Valarie asking if I’d be interested in co-creating Wonder Baby, a doll to accompany her first children’s book, World of Wonder ✨❤️✨

These are the projects that fill my heart and soul- that allow me to give back to the world in a way that feels fun, creative and meaningful. These are projects that allow me to include Matteo to help him imagine a future that is bright and inclusive and very different than the one we’re living in right now.

I have the privilege to be able to contribute my time and money to sustain For Purpose Kids as my life’s work, and have decided that this way of doing “business” is just right for me. It is “profitable” in the way that it should be, for me, and it’s taken me more than 10 years to realize that is enough.

It’s still a “pinch me” moment when I see our dolls being used in this way, by visionaries like Valarie Kaur to spread love and wonder around the world, or being played with by kids in a ger in Mongolia.

And that they are used to raise much needed funds for organizations doing the hard work to make the world a better place, brings me so much joy and gratitude.

Thank you, to those on the FPK team and around the world, that have supported my vision of “business”, and to those that have seen the power of play in crafting the vision of a better world for our kids.

It is, and will continue to be, one of the greatest honors of my life to inspire the next generation of global citizens through play and storytelling…and may For Purpose Kids continue on for many more years to come ❤️

I haven’t posted much lately, mostly because I’m completely overwhelmed by what is happening in the world right now 🌎

BUT…one of the practices I’m trying to be more consistent with, is connecting with what brings me JOY. And what’s even better is when that JOY comes as a result of what I feel is my purpose in life- to help children feel safe and loved ❤️

These are photos from Play Ger, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia 🇲🇳- the first of it’s kind. It’s a place for children and families to come and play…and for kids, to play is to learn. This Play Ger gives them the space, and materials, such as toys, books and a climbing structure, to learn in a safe environment while their caregivers begin to see and understand the important role that play has in a child’s development.

To see our Global Kidizens included in this space, as dolls with which to play with and learn from, truly fills my ❤️ with the greatest JOY! These dolls were donated by a OneSky supporter and we continue to be so grateful for this partnership.

And for those who aren’t aware, OneSky for all children is one of our Development Partners, so a portion of sales from each Míng Lì doll, goes directly to supporting OneSky’s efforts to train caregivers in Asia to provide nurturing, responsive care to children so that they can thrive.

We also have a special collaboration with OneSky, where 50% of the sale of ANY of our Global Kidizens dolls goes to them, using the designated link in our bio.
