Quite a few people have asked us about our on-line presence. While our Esty selection is much smaller than our brick and mortar options, we're going to make every effort to list at least 20 items a week over the next several weeks. Our Story

Established in 2003, LOOK Apparel and Accessories is an important part of the growing fashion/design/textile industry in Hudson NY and its environs. We specialize in vintage and archival clothing from Japanese and Belgian designers like Comme des Garcons, Yohji Yamamoto, Martin Margiela and Ann Demeulemeester whose self referential, modernist aesthetic is rooted in “Moga”, or Modern Girls, an influential group of young Japanese women who followed Western fashion and lifestyles in the 1920s. Moga was a direct challenge to the old world order. It signified the emergence of a politically powerful Japanese working class, and more specifically the social and economic liberation of young Japanese women. In other words, we specialize in designers who break with tradition, challenge established notions of beauty, sexuality and identity and tell the story of the rise of subversive working class art, design and thought.
