We are a full-service ski shop providing specialty services and gear to athletes from Hunter Mountain We are a small family business making a BIG impact.

The Pro Ski and Ride is a full-service ski and snowboard shop that has been serving the Hunter Mountain community since 1993. We provide specialty services out of our store in Hunter, NY. We provide expert boot fitting from skiers that have boot fitting accreditation from industry leading providers BootDoc and MasterFit Univiersity. We provide high performance tuning courtesy of a state-of-the-art

Wintersteiger Jupiter automated tuning machine that was previously used by the US Ski Team. Our fast and friendly rental service boasts quality rental equipment that will get you on the mountain at a fraction of the time and price as renting at the mountain. The Pro Ski and Ride’s retail shop includes equipment, clothes, and accessories from the best brands in the industry and is carefully curated, and in many cases tested, by our in-house team of winter sports enthusiasts. Our online storefront has extended our reach by shipping quality goods nationwide.

We know things have been a little quiet around here since the season wrapped up — but we promise, we have not been sitting still.

Behind the scenes at The Pro Ski and Ride, we’ve been getting ready for next winter.

Here in Hunter, next season’s equipment has already started arriving from select brands, including Fischer, Atomic, and Stöckli. We’ve also received our new fleet of Fischer rental skis for next season as we continue investing in our rental program and working toward having the most modern rental fleet on the mountaintop.

Online, we’ve been busy giving our website a facelift to make it easier to navigate and to add even more helpful information about products, services, boot fitting, tuning, rentals, and skiing in general.

It may be summer, but winter is always on our mind.

This season is barely in the rearview mirror, but we’re already thinking about exciting updates for next season.

We’re thrilled to welcome three new brands to The Pro Ski and Ride for next winter:

• Skis and boots from Rossignol
• Skis, boots, and bindings from Salomon
• Heated vests from ActionHeat

These brands will be available in-shop next season, and we’ll also have the ability to special order additional models and sizes to get you exactly what you need.

We’re already building next year’s lineup — and this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.

Big News from Hunter…

After years of serving the ski community, we’ve decided it’s time to evolve.

Starting November 2026, The Pro Ski and Ride will officially rebrand after hours as:

The Pro Ski & Rye
Hunter’s newest Apres Social Club.

A place where instructors, patrollers, racers, coaches, and locals can gather for good drinks and great company after the lifts stop spinning.

Our beverage program will focus on craft beer and classic cocktails, featuring:

• Shot Ski Fridays
• Espresso Martini Saturdays (we’re finally putting that espresso machine to work)
• A rotating craft lineup led by our Head of Fiddlehead Procurement

And of course, a signature guest experience:

The only bar in Hunter with a hot tub.

Leadership for this exciting new venture includes:

• Gio Holmquist — General Manager
• Robert Bolten — Head of Fiddlehead Procurement
• Rich Hawks — Creative Cocktail Director

We are currently accepting applications for:

• Chair of Member Experience
• Mixologists
• Bouncers
• Dishwashers

Membership tiers will be announced at a later date but will be considerably more reasonable than other clubs in the Catskills.

Membership will be open to the ski community beginning November 2026.

Ski boots encouraged, but not required.
