Those that know me, know that I love supporting small businesses… even if it does take a little more arm nudging for me to do it for mine.

I’ve been on the hunt for a leather maker for some time to collaborate with. I know basic leather work and have done simplistic hat bands for my business and personal projects, but I wanted to step up to something more. I just didn’t honestly think it would be in my back yard.

Stephen and Samantha at Misty Vale Leather are excellent at what they do. True artists. I was gifted one of their “Blackwater” note carriers, and I use it daily. I also have one of their belts and it’s truly one of the best made belts I’ve worn in recent years. If you’re in the market for some handcrafted leather goods, seriously give them a shout!

So, we are announcing the “Misty Vale” collection of handcrafted artisan leather hat bands, sold exclusively through Landers Hatworks.

Cannot wait to show off all the cool designs we’ve been cooking up! Hand made, hand finished, hand dyed. Made in the Appalachian mountains, mom and pop style… need I say more?

Double trouble, again? Yeah!

These two pure beavers, granite and whiskey, are on their way to Oklahoma.

Both shaped in a sloped cattleman and a 4 1/4” shovel brim. Finished off with a complimentary horsehair hat band.

Can’t decide? Why not both?

A case of double trouble heading to California.

Two stunning pure beaver hats, pecan and silverbelly, both with 7” crowns and shipped open/flat for the customer to shape himself.

The pecan is finished with a bound 4” brim and matching 3-ply band, and the silverbelly has a raw edge 4 1/4” brim and on-tone ribbon. Turned out spectacular.

Made to fit you and you alone…
This one got picked up last week. A pure beaver black shaped up in low profile Montana with a shovel brim, a black bound edge and ribbon pairing, with a contrasting red stitch. Finished with a LH toothpick.

You can’t beat old school!

This Beaver Fifty in Steel is inspired by the Stetson Range design. Finished up with a 3” brim and classic cattleman crown. Love how this one turned out!

Sometimes simplicity is all that’s needed.

This Sahara is shaped up in a classic cattleman with a subtle variation on the rancher brim, finished off with a self band and LH clasp.

Now that’s just pretty…

A Pure Beaver Whiskey in a cattle-cutter crown, with added mule kicks, and a 4 1/2” dipped rounded brim. Finished off with a vintage on-tone ribbon.

One of the most popular, toughest “colors” to get, and one of the (sometimes) most frustrating felts to work with… Natural. But it pays off because it’s also one of the coolest.

Been building a slew of these lately, in a lot of different styles. It’s always cool to see how versatile Natural can really be.
