A NEW CHAPTER FOR BLACK VEIL 🖤
After a lot of careful consideration, we’ve decided that Black Veil is evolving.
When we launched Black Veil Bridal Studio, the name represented exactly what we wanted to create: an alternative bridal space for people who have never quite seen themselves reflected in the traditional wedding industry.
What we didn’t anticipate was how frequently our name would be associated with Black Veil Brides — a band I was actually unfamiliar with when our brand was created.
We both exist within alternative communities, so naturally there is some crossover in audience and aesthetic. And while we appreciate the band, their music, and the incredibly passionate community surrounding them, over time we’ve realized that more and more attention has shifted toward the perceived connection between our names rather than toward the work we are actually creating.
This isn’t a new consideration for us. We’ve been discussing how to further differentiate ourselves since those comparisons first began.
We want people to find Black Veil because of the gowns. The veils. The art. The strange ideas. The dramatic silhouettes. The black wedding dresses. The unconventional brides, grooms and nearlyweds who deserve a space where they don’t have to tone themselves down to get married.
We want our identity to belong completely to the world we are building.
For that same reason, we have also chosen to remove the Cameo we recently shared from Andy Biersack. We genuinely appreciated his congratulations and had a lot of fun receiving and sharing it. However, despite our attempts to clearly state that there was no affiliation between us, we feel that sharing the video ultimately created more confusion around that distinction.
It was a cool moment. We appreciated it. And now we’re switching gears.
Over the next few months, we will begin transitioning from Black Veil Bridal Studio into:
BLACK VEIL ALTERWED ATELIER
Is it quite as immediately simple or smooth as our original name? Maybe not. 😂 But the more we sat with it, the more it felt like us.
ALTERWED represents what we’re actually trying to do — take an industry built around tradition and create another path for the people who were never interested in following it.
And ATELIER reflects what Black Veil has increasingly become: not simply a bridal boutique, but a design studio where ideas are sketched, altered, customized, constructed and turned into something deeply personal.
Black Veil isn’t disappearing.
We’re defining it.
Our aesthetic isn’t changing.
Our designs aren’t changing.
Our commitment to alternative bridal isn’t changing.
If anything, we’re leaning further into it.
Thank you to everyone who has found us, supported us, ordered from us, shared our work, visited the studio, or simply followed along while we figure out what this strange little corner of the bridal world can become.
Welcome to the next evolution of Black Veil.

For those who were never meant to marry traditionally. 🖤
