We are SO excited to welcome Emily Feagin Robison as our newest artist for our mini gallery wall! From the colors, to the bugs, and the quilt squares, we are obsessed! We love walking into the shop and being greeted by such a happy wall. Make sure to come see them for yourselves, and maybe take one of her originals home with you!

Everyone please meet Emily Robison!

My work is a memoir. I’m deeply inspired by my own personal history- the people who have come before me, the people and places that have birthed them, and how pieces of those collective experiences have shaped me. As a native Alabamian, my work is distinctly inspired by my Southern perspective. But more than any physical place, it is these people and the experiences I’ve had with them that shape my sense of
“home”. It is the ideas, the likes and dislikes, the ways of being that we share for very decidedly do not share that make up the roots that tack me down to earth and give me a reason to make things.

Nothing beats physical media. Recently got in these recipe books, children’s books, and a 1940s yearbook. We definitely cried reading through the yearbook. She was so loved from her peers.

Excited to welcome our new mini gallery artist to the shop! We could stare at her clouds all day. Also how cute are the fluffy cloud keychains and garlands? All are available for purchase at the shop! So come see them this month and next month before they’re gone.

Belle Prosser is an artist creating tonally rich cloudscapes residing in Huntsville, Alabama. Prosser studied oil painting at the University of Montevallo, where she earned a BFA in 2017. Her work embraces the technical challenge of exaggerating the ephemerality of cloud formations by utilizing the opaque medium of oil on canvas. She has begun to expand her practice by exploring form and texture further by using embroidery techniques to “paint with thread”. Her paintings represent abstraction found in nature: the distortion of color and light that is projected in the sky above.
