Don't toss those tiny scraps! They're
perfect for making custom inspiration
cards. A little glue, a little fabric
confetti, some motivational stickers
and a whole lot of joy!
I love inspirational quote stickers! I add
them to cards, journal pages
collages, and even my planner for a
little positive reminder.

Many years ago, I participated in The Great Corset Challenge, where you took a designer's corset design & made it in your own style. I made mine out of vintage ephemera, instead of fabric! The pieces were cut and layered using advertisements from an early 1900's Ladies Home Journal Magazine that was falling apart.
Orginially this was a wall hanging that was getting banged up over the years. I cut it down to fit in my art book to preserve it but didn't love the chalk pastel background. It was already sealed so I used an acrylic paint marker (they'll work on any medium) to update it! Easy peasy and I love the contrast of styles.

Some of these vintage cards date back to the 1940s. Many were written in, stained, and falling apart—but that doesn't mean they’re useless.
​Here’s how I salvage, process, and turn trash into treasure:
​I reuse what can be saved whole and preserve any meaningful inscriptions.
​For the damaged and age-spotted cards, I fussy cut them to rescue all those beautiful illustrations and cute details for collage work.
​Finally, I sort everything by season and theme for future projects or to include in themed junk journal kits.

This vintage 1960s paint book took on some water damage, but instead of tossing it, I'm rescuing every beautiful piece of art left behind. Save what you can, use it differently, and stash it away for your next creative project!

The best kind of chaos 🌸 My table is completely covered in florals, vintage cut outs, and paperdolls today. This is my favorite part of the process—just pulling items together by theme and color and seeing where it takes me. Trust me, it’s all coming together into something special for the shop! New ephemera packs are on the way.

People have been asking how I pull collage pieces together, so I wanted to share my process! This is from a vintage ephemera and watercolor collage series I did---starting from tearing up old book pages, creating layers and bringing in those extra details & bit of watercolor to make it pop! Hope you enjoy seeing how it all comes together!

Not everything you create needs to have a dollar sign attached to it. It’s genuinely beneficial for your mental health to just play, explore, and create for the pure joy of it.
​Yes, there's vintage ephemera in this little silly collage, but I also repurposed pieces from my own personal memory box:
-​Stamps and a postmark from a letter I wrote my parents while at summer camp
-​A cut up gift bag from a close friend that was at my wedding
- A quote from a poetry book my Mom had in college
-​Pieces of maps from an Atlas my family owned
​It’s a way of reducing physical clutter while still holding onto a tiny snippet that actually means something to me.
And that beautiful illustration? It's from a children's book from 1910 that I saved for years until it fell apart. ​
So to the haters—relax, it’s just paper and memories, darling. ✂️

Even when a vintage cookbook has stained pages and a falling off cover, somebody's gonna be mad that I "destroyed" it. Every last piece gets a second life—from fussy cut images and collage pieces, to signatures and tuck pockets.
​I've also been having so much fun putting together a new batch of vintage kitchen junk journal kits for the shop!

​What is your absolute favorite section to flip through in an old cookbook—appetizers, casseroles, or desserts?

Personally I'm amazed (and often grossed out) by what they would put in jello molds. 🤣 Sardines AND hard boiled eggs?!
