Awesome news!

The former Black Acre Brewing Co. Garden space in Irvington will be the new home of Pots & Pans Pie Co.’s commercial kitchen.

Pots & Pans Pie Co. have been selling savory and sweet pies in Indy since 2016. Owner Clarissa Morley started out at local farmers markets before opening the brick and mortar store at 4915 N. College Ave. in 2018 with her husband Ian.

In addition to a commercial kitchen, they plan to have neighborhood retail, parking and a green space.

In April 2025, Shop Kid LLC, an affiliate of Pots and Pans Pie Co., received a RFSI grant from the Indiana Department of Agriculture to improve food supply resilience and increase local and regional distribution and storage capacity.

Pots and Pans Pie Co. will use the money to renovate one of the existing buildings on the site into the 15,000- to 17,000-square-foot commercial production kitchen. Construction will start in the fall and is expected to be completed in spring 2027.

The small business made 45,000 pies; they hope to double that number in the new space.

Last year, Fairchild Renovations rescued these doors-likely from a built in or attic access-from the attic of 100 year old duplex in south Broad Ripple, (Midtown or SoBro as the kids say) , saving them from the likely dumpster!

Art Work by Elizabeth saw the potential immediately, added her talents, and voila!

So….we won’t be able to open up today (Saturday June 20th)

We both have events. We had lined up my son to run the shop for the day. He was very excited!

But-last night he had someone hit him head on while he was waiting for a light to change! He’s ok-very lucky and thankful!

The car…not so much. He’s discouraged and with both those things doesn’t have the means or the mindset to make it happen.

We’re sorry if you planned to come in today or stopped by and we weren’t there. Life happens.

When I first arrived, my hopes were that a nice 👷‍♂️ had been excited to visit and was parked out front waiting for us to open. But it t’weren’t to be. Oh well, we’re over here making lemonade!

At least you can get to us! Just come up N. Bolton from Washington Street, 1st Alley to the right behind the house on the corner!

And go see our friends Market Vintage, they are having construction related hurdles as well!
