Market After Dark was once again a chaotic crazy night and we all thank you so much for coming out, dealing with the rain(again!!) and the crowds and supporting small during this annual party time! No spotted because we were just too busy! But I did get a few pics of folks leaving in their new digs, sold out of all the sweatshirts except the ballon’s I think as well as most of the flannels. I took yesterday to recover but will be frantically working every night this week to get restocked for our regular market this Saturday where I will be back in my normal space. Only two left for the season, so come out early before kickoff so you don’t miss it!!

Tonight’s the night! Cedar Rapids Farmers Market and Buy Local Initiatives Market After Dark is today only, looks like the rain should be done by opening bell (although we were tricked by that last market so bring umbrella just in case) and penelope! and I will be in stall 71- between the Pita
Z food truck and Almost Famous Popcorn, and in the more calm area away from the stages. I will have the new bags as well as a limited selection of the tapestry sweatshirts and just a couple dusters and vests as a sneak peek (and lower intro pricing!, as well as the full range of wallets, Thinserts, totes, toiletry bags, and more. See you 6:30-11!!!

New bag dropping this Saturday! I have spent months trying to figure this one out and finally I have a method and shape I’m happy with! It is hard to see the true shape in this but think of those old wicker baskets for bicycles or the ones you’d hang in a wall- flat back with a curved lid that opens by lifting up, and that’s kind of the vibe. Cutting into the collectible and fancy towels for these roomy divas along with vintage sheets for the linings, a combination of interfacing and fleece inside gives structure while retaining soft flexibility, and they will have an adjustable strap to wear in a bunch of ways, from f***y to shoulder to crossbody. Those eyes…working on some fun upcycles for Market After Dark, finally cutting into my stash of these soft throws and combining with comfy sweatshirts and jean jackets. The (former) Teen™️ always gets first looks at everything I make and occasionally wants to claim dibs and who am I to say no? Especially when it fit them perfectly and it is their birthday week!!! 🥳🥳

I could not stop twirling around in this, so you’ll just have to deal with my goofiness! I finally cut into one of my vintage chenille peacocks to make this duster and I love it! I decided to use a different one for the sleeves to pull out the purple more, plus I didn’t really love the sections that were left over from the single blanket. The fringe came from the bedspread I made the dress from as I have lots of extra and the chenille didn’t have trims. I did add pockets, but I need longer arms because I made them too low for me. 😭 Or maybe this one will find a new home at Market After Dark Saturday? Should I make a few of these this week?
