There is something so satisfying about growing your own food and preserving a little bit of summer to enjoy later. Today I spent some time in the kitchen pickling zucchini and canning beets from my garden, and my heart is full.
I’m patiently waiting for the rest of my garden to catch up so I can can carrots, green beans, baby corn, and make fresh salsa too! Gardening has a beautiful way of reminding us to slow down, be patient, and appreciate the seasons we’re in.
At HappyRoots, I love sharing all things that grow—from houseplants to pollinator gardens to homegrown vegetables. It all starts with putting our hands in the dirt. 🌱
I’d love to hear from you! What’s your favorite thing to can or preserve? Do you have a family recipe that’s a must-make every summer? Drop it in the comments—I may need to add something new to my canning list!
