I have a lot of things to donate I eat pots pans Etc home stuff I used to donate to a church in Islamorada and they don't call me back does anyone know people or an organization who actually need things for their home perhaps clothing as well

Very intense two days of rescue calls! This Great Blue Heron was rescued from the 100 block of Avenue F on Big Coppitt. The Heron is being treated for an older wing injury and will be able to be returned to the wild.

Fake bills found near Seven Mile Bridge

These fake $100 bills were found near the Seven Mile Bridge on Thursday. They have labels stating they are for filmmaking and movies, but otherwise, look real at a passing glance.

Residents and businesses should be aware of these notes. Be careful and studious when accepting large sums of cash.

Happy Endangered Species Day!

All sea turtles in U.S. waters are protected under the Endangered Species Act. In 1996, there were less than 5,000 green sea turtle nests in Florida. In 2019, there were more than 53,000! In 2022, which was predicted to be a "down" year, there were still 37,000 green nests! This comeback makes green turtles in Florida one of the greatest conservation success stories of our time and is just one example of a success that can be owed to decades of conservation work and the Endangered Species Act protection 🐢💚

Happy World Turtle Day!

The day was created as a yearly observance to help people celebrate and protect turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world.

Let's Shell-a-brate these magnificent swimming practically dinosaurs by doing our part... use the least amount of plastic as possible, pick up trash on land & sea, talk about sea turtles with your friends, family & colleagues to help them become advocates for sea turtles too!!! Flippers up!
