Dear NECHS Friends and Members,

Our meet and greet on Saturday, August 22nd is still on at 1 PM EST, but having visited both shops, I realized that as nice as they are, there aren’t many places to sit and talk. Both shops are also crowded and not really conducive to a quiet, peaceful time. I recommend that we meet at the first place on Genesee St. and then go maybe to the Sherwood Inn or Patisserie, which is quiet and just behind it. Sherwood Inn is near the corner of W. Genesee St and W. Lake Street. It overlooks the water and seems to be very popular as a dining location. We can discuss this when we meet. Until then, be well, stay safe, and enjoy the week.

Dear North East Conical Hat Society Members and Friends,

We have set a date for the next meet and greet on Saturday, August 22nd at the Vermont Green Mountain Specialty Co shop, located on 50 E. Genesee St in Skaneateles, NY. This shop serves coffee, tea, and specialty lattes along with baked goods and chocolate truffles, candy of various kinds. We can follow this meeting place with a stroll in the downtown area and a trip to Skaneateles Bakery, which serves breakfast and other hearty sandwiches as well as baked goods. The Skaneateles Bakery is located at 19 Jordan Street and not too far from E Genesee St. The timing is a bit unclear as Yours Truly will likely be taking a bus over. However, we are aiming for 1 PM as the meeting time. Pictures and more detailed itinerary ideas may be forthcoming soon.

Dear North East Conical Hat Society Friends and Members,

Greetings and Love to you from Auburn, NY! Our ranks are growing as more people discover the joys of conical hat making and wearing! I saw several great examples of modern day, artsy conical hats on lovely patrons’ heads at the NYS Faerie Festival this year, and more at the Sterling Renaissance Festival last year.
Because it is summer and we have not been meeting lately, let’s take this opportunity to consider where we would like to gather for tea next. I am thinking it might be fun to connect in Skaneateles, so please let me know if that appeals to you. I will post again with our meetup location in a week or so.
