Yosemite. I've never been and I lived in California-but, one of my dresses has hiked it and in it I did what I knew how: Built a corset out of muslin, flexible boning, layered for sweat absorption and soft enough to be worn under chiffon. -The Bride Was Patient With Me :)

And how do we capture the Falls into a dress, the Echo of what is Nature materially into Fabric, the poetry of cloth; if Not, through and stitched. -Drapery

Prom style pics -->Note the center front seam, originally meant to be the back seam, this is how we change a neckline to make perfect sense and act like the seam was always suppossed to be there! -She Wore The Cape Backwards on Purpose

Sidewalk Sales and the Skaneateles Library Annual Book Sale are happening now and really? How could I be upset that I'm here in Skaneateles for my favorite weekend of the year? -We Start Delivery to Ithaca Next Week

Originally the plan was she'd wear the cape over top her rehearsal dinners LWD with it's ruffle skirt removed...

But-

I'd contemplate if the waistline was too restricting for Someone as free as Lizzy Bigs! And we'd make a LWD without a waist and a sharper neckline to honor the seam down the center front and put some fringe at the center back to justify Lizzys vision of wearing a cape backwards 🎉...

The fish in the background swimming in the opposite direction of how we read, the Amazon box, and her standing on the Threshold of two seperate floors...

We stand in museums for hours reflecting the same paintings, enthralled by the Artists vision- 'oh, they wrote Amazon on the box,' 'The Fish 🐠 swimming 🏊 against the current 🌊...' what if some of our great art wasn't really an Artists Easter Eggs hidden throughout the canvas, but truly a photograph before cameras existed and the Synchronization between whats invisible and Material, simply recorded. -Freedom

Hey Now. A couple of things :)

1⃣. We remain in Skaneateles for another week or two :) Our landlords in Ithaca saw a problem and chose to fix it the right way. We can't be upset and personally, I'm even more excited for the relationship we are entering into with the Triphammer marketplace; It's transactional, but already proving to be really healthy :)

We will still open and honor our appointments this month in Ithaca-We're on track to meet those!

✌. We had to update some of our communication apps on Monday, and we're allowing updates to take their time ;) I've been a bit slow answering messages, but we're moving along and nothing is urgent! All of our projects through this weekend left two and three weeks ago ➡ 🎯 🎉

Her waters are beautiful because they provide sustenance. When you need to quench your thirst, wash a wound, take a shower- she flows down your back, Effortless.

And yet-

His to Hers. It's not Effortless. The Waterworks. A building, beautiful too, the 'His'-the Masculine artifact built by the people to help disperse Her waters: Needs resources.

Basements throughout Skaneateles-dirt, corroded concrete, original pipes from the 1800s; Not a brag, BTW. Original crown molding, sure. Pipes from 1832-not so much...

Require the taxes to not simply restore them, repair them, but to nurture them.

The Middle. The Merchants choosing between sending their kids to school with sandwiches or school lunch, the irony (?) now: School lunch prices are the inexpensive option...Maybe that's tax dollars working-

Nomatter.

The middle, the merchants, they'll keep Skaneateles in place. Where the sidewalks end, how they're maintained is by the middle- as it is everywhere.

Infrastructure in Skan: Rubber bands holding pieces of pipe together, flagged pipes landlords neglected for four years, code refusing to inspect-

Who do we work for.

The water is a good reminder. The facades of buildings may well be beautiful, but what is beauty when your foundation is rot and your Stewards are not the biggest donors with the nicest parties electing the Politicians, but the Ones working off-the-clock replacing one more rubber band to keep things going for another day-

Check in on them. The Stewards without pay keeping us safe with care one rubber band at a time.

Skaneateles at its finest. What I've admired about the Village are the volunteers. Is Skaneateles a wealthy-upscale community; yes. Is Skaneateles privileged, yes. Is Skaneateles beautiful, yes.

But-

What is beauty without work. Specifically women's work.

What is the side of wealth and privilege that nobody talks about? That It's a lunch pail job.

Well manicured parks, the cleanest lake is and has been done in earnest year over year. The people, the tax payers, do not give up. They show up.

My favorite time of the year has been watching the docks go in. Rain or shine, hot or cold, people in wetsuits install the docks that are free to the public and funded by volunteers.

Dickens, the lights, the wreaths, the garlands: Untangled by volunteers.

Stay at Home Moms: A privilege and a choice, for most-absolutely not all- free lunch programs are here too and they are a necessity in Skaneateles just as much as neighboring schools, but those Moms who made the choice because they could afford to stay home--> Run Things. Everyday. All day. They show up and are the hardest working CEOs and CFOs with or without titles on the board.

The PTA, the parents, the retired volunteers who show up to give tours, talk, educate people about Skaneateles-

The landscapers and environmentalists who log their time-

That is Skaneateles.

The big houses, the mansions, the Titans of industry- that is not all Skaneateles is, most- not even close to what it can be because dedication grows.

Wealth changes. Riches expand and contract, but community stands and that's what Skaneateles is, like everyone else- a community.

To contribute is to belong. My only critique upon leaving is the stories- we hear about the Titans, but I'd like to hear, on tours, about the people propping this town up.

A new library is going in :) Maybe as they do in Europe, people-the hands of Skaneateles could make themselves available for loan and tell the stories of what it meant to untangle wreaths for Dickens and install the docks of Summer.

If there's anything Skaneateles needs, it's to be relatable and attainable to the visitors in awe over its beauty and insecure over its wealth.
