We post occasionally about the Finger Lake's local Lucky Stones--small, fossilized stones preserving evidence of life moving through sediment. If you've never collected them on the shores before, we're in perfect beach-combing weather!

Our local hints: Taughannock State Park and north on the west side of Cayuga Lake; Aurora; Long Point State Park on Cayuga's east side. If there are any Seneca Lake locals, drop your hints below!

Pictured: custom, oxidized Lucky Stone Earrings with emeralds bezel-set in gold. We loved the client's chosen combination of the darkened, industrial-looking silver with that green-and-gold center. More importantly, his wife loved them, too!

An outstanding, practically outrageous, bladed malachite specimen bezel-set is set in silver, stamped with a leaf on the back, and hung from a strand of emerald beads. What else would you have done?

Once upon a time, there was a brooch. A beautiful brooch, but an unworn brooch all the same. Sound familiar?

We've done many brooch conversions, but you've never quite seen anything the same as this end result. The diamonds were left in their original, square settings. The opal was bezel-set and elevated to a position of prominence, and two teeny-tiny garnets were folded into the recesses of this Wrinkle Ring.

The band was made in sterling silver and torched with gold leaf, resulting in the colorful and unique look of the ring--like a piece of jewelry unearthed from an ancient shipwreck.

Toss that old brooch setting into the ocean. History is moving forward with style.

Cheers! 🥂 Champagne Zircon is one of the most outstanding gemstones: A strong mineral, infinitely wearable, with color as delicate as 24k gold leaf.

The Jewelbox's staff argued and bargained over how they could purchase and split this lot of stones, but haggled too long--a very special customer came in and plucked them out of our last gem show!
