Recently saw a really cool looking shirt done by someone else. But upon closer inspection I wouldn’t want to wear it. The design was a big placard of ink with no breathing room within the design.

The design had huge areas of ink that could have been eliminated being the same color as the shirt. If they had knocked out that shirt color from the design it would have made for a way more comfortable design to wear.

Breathability of a shirt design is just one small part of what makes the difference between a professionally designed shirt and one that likely came straight out of AI without any professional editing/ adaptation for shirt printing.

Not every design is actually good for shirt printing, but if we design it (like the attached designs we did) we will be mindful of the way our designs wear. That’s one of the reasons we always ask the shirt color first.
