Robert called this bull into 12 yards in thick timber. Even when they don’t work out, hunts like these are what makes elk hunting such an unreal experience! Already missing September😔

My 2026 High Country Mule Deer! This spur of the moment trip quickly became one of the coolest hunts I’ve done.

I decided on Tuesday that I wanted to hunt high country muleys for the first time, so I pulled up onX Hunt , picked a spot, and said that’s where I’d go.

Kenny Lomme texted me on Thursday to come film the whole thing, which I’m super grateful for. Running on virtually no sleep, we picked apart every drainage to turn up what we were after. By Saturday morning we had my buck down and packing him out in some of the gnarliest country I’ve hunted.

I’ll have to share the full story with the videos but it was a rollercoaster to say the least😅

Dialing in for deer season now. My guns are shooting well and I feel great about this years setup! I’ve got 3 deer tags in my pocket and we are currently heading out for the first one with the boomstick🤞

Quick explanation of the camera angle!

It was only slightly chaotic, but this bull finally stepped into my shooting lane and gave me a chance! Robert had been raking for a few minutes before and this bull came in silently to check it out!

Part 2 of the elk biltong in my garage! After curing and hanging for 3 days, I figured they were close enough to cut into and see how I did.
