If a man tells you he loves you but chooses to cheat, pay attention to his actions more than his words.
I've heard people say, "It didn't mean anything," or, "I don't love her, I love you." But betrayal doesn't become less painful just because someone claims the other person didn't matter. The decision to break your trust still mattered.
Real love isn't just about what someone feels. It's about the choices they make when no one is watching. It's about protecting the relationship, respecting your boundaries, and refusing to risk losing someone they truly value.
Cheating while expecting to come home to your loyalty, your forgiveness, and your affection isn't love. It's expecting the benefits of commitment without honoring the responsibilities that come with it.
That doesn't mean every relationship can never recover after infidelity. Some couples choose to rebuild through genuine accountability, complete honesty, and consistent change. But that only works when the person who betrayed the trust takes full responsibility and proves, over time, that they're committed to earning it back.
Never let someone convince you that love excuses repeated betrayal. If a person's actions consistently break your heart while their words keep promising change, believe the pattern, not the promise.
You deserve a relationship where you don't have to question someone's loyalty or wonder if their actions will match what they tell you. Love should bring security, not constant uncertainty.
If this message resonated with you, my book goes much deeper into betrayal, self-worth, healing, and recognizing the difference between genuine love and empty promises. The book link is in the comments and in my profile bio. π€
